Does not look good for Fremantle. No doubt Fremantle would have been having contract talks with Fyfe last year to try and get it sorted before this circus which will be this year. Going to be hanging over his and Fremantle's head all season, which (as history has shown) will have a negative effect on his own game.

WA lad, hopefully he re signs with Freo. Love watching this kid play too, such a natural footballer!!

Not all of them Fish.....Cloke was one that bucked the trend.

Their is a big difference between those situations and Fyfe's. These guys were all a fair bit older, Fyfe is only what 23?

I think it will come down to Fremantles season. If they do well and win the flag which so many people expect them to then I think he will stay, but if they fade away / dont make the top 4 then I can see him packing his bags for a large sum of money.

Could sort of go the other way as well Yolo. If he wins a flag, and believes that Fremantle then might be on the slide after that, then he may pack his bags for the dollars, given he has won the ultimate success already.....time to secure his future.

If the price is right he will go at seasons end.. be stupid not to.. I can see another club giving him an offer he cant refuse because he is hot property..

He can always go back to the farm after footy!

I think age definitely matters.

I don't think Sandilands and Mundy had the same hype about them at 23 as Fyfe does now. No one was going to offer them two a million a year to move clubs. Also, their wasn't that much money going around when Pavlich was an up and coming star, yes he probably could have got a bit more to go back to Adelaide, but its not in the same degree as what is being thrown around now as a percentage of increase.

Fremantle should have a fair bit of coin to throw around, as they were trying to entice Buddy/Clark/Cloke over. But you would think that would be eaten up by a few players now who have proved themselves. A few players contracts would have atleast double over the last 2 years.

Good luck to freo keeping him, I hope they do. But with the money that is thrown around these days, I can see exactly why he would leave.
