Like you yolo, it hurts me to say that the dorks may well end up in another GF. They may well have learned off their big brother....1991/1992 :P They may start the season slowly, but I'd be surprised if they don't build a real head of steam as the year rolls on. :(

Not really Cats v Pies got 12500 at geelong. Granted it was a 07:10 kick off, then again it wasnt a DERBY. About what was expected IMHO.

I stand corrected anchorman...so in reality, Tuesday was a Freo win in relative terms as they only went down to the beags by 84. ;)

Long long way to go fellas, lots needs to go right or wrong depending on what you need or want, weather it be the draw, injuries, the umps, plus the odd bit of pure luck.

reckon freo have the best list in the AFL at this very mo, just a matter of backing it up, reckon last year was a golden opportunity for them to break the duck, after this year the window will start to close, will LYON get the allusive flag he is chasing,,who knows!

Reckon they would want to strike this season with the list they have and yeah i reckon they have just as good a shot at the big one this season as 2 or 3 other sides.

Quite a few of there stars are over 30,Pav and McPharlin both 33 this season,Sandi 32 at years end,Johnson and Crowley turning 30,Mundy and Duffield 29 and a few at 28.

Correct mate, as you pointed out some old players there in the twighlight, you would have to think it's now or never with this group, if they don;t do it this year its a long way back , with many teams closing in fast with young exciting teams.

Its a vert similar situation with the team complextion LYON faced at St Kilda, that drawn GF how close can you get! but no cigar , after that the window closed. St Kilda now adrift.

They will need to win it this year or they wont for some time IMO considering their top liners are 30+.. In saying that Lyon has been in 4 GF's & lost the lot so will it be 5th time lucky!

No doubt about it Terror, this will be his last roll of the dice, reckon he knows it as well, the whole comp is designed for the top teams to turn around pretty quickly, I think a bigger mix of clubs have won GFs in the last decade or so than ever, West Coast, Collingwood, St Kilda, Geelong, have all had their time in the sun and have faded, Hawthorn will be the next to drift away, it realy is just a matter of how badly you bottom out and recovery time, theres plenty on the boil ready to move on up, the Roos, Tigers and even Gold Coast..

Lyon said his boys still have a big training load and I think Eagles are just running mainly now so physically more prepared due to no finals last year.
However I think with Sumich coaching it was a dead cert anyway :-)
We had a few injuries last year so we may be able to enjoy this season a bit more. Although as have been said already Brisbane won last year..
I believe Hawthorn were well beaten in last years NAB also.
It was bloody hot in the sun on Tuesday sitting on the grass, the players did well in that. By the time most of the crowd had entered the building in the first quarter the game was over unfortunately. 52-6 when I walked through. Sht timeslot for coming from work, traffic was hideous.
Bloody Joondalup Falcons is it? West Perth will just vanish then?
That will be a shame.
