Is he the best thing to happen to Freo? I remember reading heaps of posts on the Pixieland website when Lyon was appointed and how wrong it was, the two Steves were hopeless by changing jumpers etc etc. Well the Steves have done a fantastic job, firstly by changing from our typical inexperienced coaches to a genuine coach and changing the face of the club to a more conventional, down to earth club. The jumpers are great, the coach is possibly the best going around at the moment, so much for not developing the young guys, he has turned them in to a very consistent, hard running, all round team with players that were previously judged to be average at best. And he has done it with several players being injured for long periods.

Many scribes say his game plan can't win grandfinals, i remember M.Blight couldn't win them at Geelong he then joins the Crows and wins two in a row, maybe if Lyon had better cattle at the Saints it may of been a different story.

I just think Geelong and Collingwood were better sides and had more talent, Sydney won both their recent Grandfinals with the same game plan, so the game plan isn't the problem it comes down to cattle in the end, he would be easily top 3 or 4 coaches in the AFL.

Freo supporters would be pretty happy seeing the second and third efforts i would say they would be pretty foreign to them, and they can now look forward to seeing their team winning games over East.

At the moment they are winning games with six of their best out, after the bye Geelong and WC seem to be their only 50 50 games they could well finish top 2, with Pav,Walters,Sandy and maybe Morabito coming back later in the year they may well go deep into the finals.

Spoke to some eagle supporters yesterday and they are hating how good freo are looking.

hardly unexpected with ross lyon as coach but the game against brisbane highlights how boring it is to watch freo these days. kicking goals is not their area of expertise with a game plan that resembles circle work sides do at training. freo supporters would be excused for taking pillows and blankets with them to games.zzzzzz.

so what are you trying to say???? Anything at all???? I don't like any team that beats the WCE and I detest any team that beats the Sharks. Isn't that how it goes in sport, or am I missing something in the translation????

I think what he or she is trying to say is based on the fact that they are a WA side, then maybe Eagles supporters may be happy with what Freo are doing!! then again, as you are not a WA supporter of football you wouldn't understand that! Though conviently when TFAF talks about VFL dominance you side with him.

Though i do agree with detesting any team that beats the mighty sharks!!

My advise to you Joan is don't watch,33,000 today thought it was ok. I was among them.I will take that everyday of the week every week of the year.Just as long as we win.
And really who cares what the Eagles think about us.Let them be very scared of us.
At least we don't walk out half way through a game.

thanks for the advice anchorman - i did not watch the game today (or many freo games for that matter) what a bore it must have been. fancy kicking just 12 goals for the game and against brisbane too. whats wrong with really putting a side away? freo just cant do it. i see where your coming from with the 4 points argument - but you want your side to play attractive footy atleast some of the time. play with some flair and aplomb freo! you make it look so hard.

I did see a lot of the freo Richmond game - freo really did struggle to shake em. They were very lucky to get the 4 points. I think you will lose more often than not kicking 7 goals for a game. Sides kicking 20 goals are probably not going to lose many times. Sydney seem to be able to put sides away look how they dealt with Adelaide compared with the way freo struggled against the crows and lowly Brisbane yesterday when they should be belting them. Freo fans can have it.

i am a west coast member and an east fremantle member.

Every game I have been to I have seen the losing teams supporters leave before the game is over.

That includes WC and Freo fans, so to say only WC do it and FREO dont is really quite idiotic.
