this would surely be a mini final for you boys...still reckon the Foxtel will hinder your quest to defend your premiership status......to repeat what you boys did last year in your run home is gonna be a huge ask.....especially with the added distraction of another competition and a potential 100k pay packet!....don't forget Kraks was gonna be that x factor you boys needed to go back to back.....you don't seem to have that now......fingers crossed Subi get beaten....the more teams in striking distance is better for you boys than just one....pity Peel have a few noted outs.....

Not a lot going right for us this year Freeze, under achieving massively with the line up we have. Losses of 3,7,9,12,14 & 23 points puts us there a bouts but I am in agreeance with the Foxtel Cup being a hindrance but regardless of peoples thoughts of the Foxtel being a shambles, its a huge boost to get $100k in the coffers and if we lose this w/end, we must go all out to win it !

Why does anyone think that Krak was going to be that X factor by season start, when he was playing/ not playing, unfit not ready to play etc - he was the hindrance, not sure Leedy how you can say Foxtel Cup can be a hindrance, as Falc's won game following first FX game, albeit by a very slender margin, but a very small sample to be making that assumption

I agree with you Kirbs the Foxtel cup rather than being a hinderance was an advantage as it gave our Ressies guys a hit out and a place to show their ability at a higher level. Which they did. Key players were rested and a lot back this week reading the article below by Chris. Key players who cannot be left out and the Ressie guys will realise that. We must put our best side on the park and looking at this weeks side we are.
The fact is now we are Guaranteed of $40,000 from the Final game. This will cover the $15000 for Krakouer and whatever we paid for Spencer?
Included in that is match payments to Krakouer that I was told was around $600 a game. That is not confirmed but would be close to the mark. Our CEO would be pleased that at least we have recouped that considering our bottom line. :S

I am sick of talking about Krakouer with 3 threads on him on the board so lets give it a rest but I will once agree he was NOT an asset and if anything in the Games he did play did not perform well. You could see by his body language he was not interested and sure the coach and management knew this but hoped he would come good. He didnt and he has gone. End of story. We have to move on and get over it. I for one have certainly done that because it achieves nothing to carry on about it... Please dont turn this thread into another Krakouer debate..

Now lets see
We've made the final of the Foxtel Cup with the help of some very enthusiastic Reserve players and an underdone Tassie Team sorry to say - not trying to take away the effort of the boys

Kuens and Guady got some much needed match practice
We've been rested and we know ahead of is the game that really does go a long way to defining our place for the rest of the season unless one or two of the teams above us completely implode (unlikely)
We have very little if any issues with our Backs (except delivery to the mid's and forwards) - our engine still stumbles and the forward kick to man seems lost in a mist
BUT
here we are and I believe there's some tweaking the coach is and will implement to get the engine going and the forwards cracking the sticks like they should
SF often have the wood on us and they took us apart on our last meet - but that was at our home ground and for us that's a hoodoo at the moment (strangely) so in their own home I believe we can make a smash and grab of the points....

I am really looking forward to this game and cant wait to get myself to the port city and watch it unfold
I have a very good feeling about our next steps and the manner in which the team will respond to Bills questions..

Footy Budget

Heres some snippets from the Budget. Interesting articles this week including a big article on Trevor Williams caretaker coach at Perth

Review of the game By Ross Lewis Interesting I didnt realise we had a game in hand :)

SOUTH FREMANTLE V WEST PERTH
Expect to see a couple of kitchen sinks flying around at Fremantle Oval in this clash.
For both South Fremantle and West Perth it is time to give everything to the cause of winning this round 14 fixture.
The Bulldogs need to fire for their coach Paul Hasleby, who was let down badly in
the last-quarter fade-out and loss to Swan Districts a week earlier.
And if West Perth can’t claim victory then its premiership defence could well be over.
South Fremantle has lost four matches in a row and need the leadership of Ryan
Cook, Ashton Hams, Craig White and Haiden Schloithe to lift them from the doldrums.
If the Dogs can get the ball forward they can have high hopes full forward Ben Saunders can capitalise on his opportunities.
The Falcons, three wins outside the top four but with a game in hand over Subiaco (third) and East Fremantle (fourth), are getting plenty of the ball through Shane
Nelson, Aaron Black, Jordan Jones and Rohan Kerr.
But Bill Monaghan’s
men are not converting that ball supply into notches on the scoreboard.

Tipping

Umpires

Field: Matt Adams, Jordan Wright, Mark Worobec
Boundary: Jack Hobbs, Ryan Sinclair, Kirk Webster
Goal: Dale Edwick, Brody Payne

I hope Worobec has improved :(

AFL At least we wont be clashing with this game :)

Nice win to all 3 Grades today.. Great Kickstart to the 2nd half of season.

League

Bit worried at QTR time as SF seemed to be on top of us but one of the best addresses by Bill Monaghan I have heard at qtr time since he arrived at the club. He summed it up perfectly and instructed the players on how he wanted them to play and they listened. We never looked back after the 1st qtr.
I see Kody Manning is one of the best and he certainly inspired the team with his hard tackling endeavour. The guy is incredible. :)
