We came out hard and the first quarter was brilliant. A match winning qtr.
I would say the Hawks were a bit shell shocked

Looks like it is Pattersons WP V Western Storm (Tassie) as foxtel have changed the listing on their site from Storm v WP to WP v Storm
Now that is one I wont miss.. Tuesday 24 June.. Most probably be one of the biggest crowds at Patterson for a Foxtel in awhile.. Commentators said about 150 at tonight's game..0635 start.. Storm might find they are in stormy waters
If we win that we are into the finals... God Help us if its EP Ferals.. now that could get a record Foxtel crowd.. Wont do their ratings any good though LOL
Now EP has to beat Norwood at Pattersons on 27 May.. if they do they will play Williamstown or Aspley (Williamstown most probably). If they do it will be GAME ON..

Good roundup of the game from the AFL site Worth a read

www.afl.com.au/news/2014-05-06/foxtel-cu...l-hawks-v-west-perth

In part

WEST Perth has survived a spirited second-half fightback by the Box Hill Hawks to win a two-point thriller and advance into the semi finals of the Foxtel Cup..

In the battle of last year's VFL and WAFL premiers at Etihad Stadium, the Falcons toppled the Hawks 7.11 (53) to 7.9 (51).

The thrilling victory sets up a semi-final clash between Tasmanian State League side the Western Storm and West Perth in Perth next month.

The Storm also won the opening match of the competition against West Adelaide by two points.

Thanks Anchorman cant beat a good game of Footy and a 2 point win against this mob was totally unexpected. Ok we will have our usual crowd who will say it was on the cards but going into it you couldnt really give us a chance. Bit like the 2013 GF but anything can happen in Footy.. In our local league SF have shown us that..
ps GO DOCKERS

I watched this game tonight. Great win over Box Hill Hawks who are highly rated. West Perth were very good & a very significant win in Melbourne. Would love to see a permanent 2nd tier national comp. Games like this get me thinking. By the way Foxtel do a brilliant coverage. They made one honest mistake calling Bartholemew Strike ( I know I've spelt that wrong) but he was wearing 3. Well done Foxtel, at least they do something for state football, unlike Channel 7 who distance themselves relentlessly.

Congrats WP , Well done Foxtel

Well done to WP - taped the game and watched it later that night. Did very well and again showed that our WAFL teams can match it and beat these so called dominant sides from the SANFL and VFL.

Jones, Martin and Black easily WP's best and I liked the pace of number 22 I think it was. Bloody quick, forgotten his name now.

Foxtel do a great job for sure but the commentators were so pro VFL and the "wonderful" Box Hill Hawks it became a bit embarrassing. Box Hill didn't score a goal for a quarter and a half but they were focussed on WP's lack of skill often. They kept on talking about Box Hill's higher skill level and the fact that they will be able to break the game open when they wanted to and run away with it and be to good . . . yet they were down by 19 points at the time???

Well done to WP - showed some good spirit. Hopefully now that dies away =)
