I think Mr Hodyl comments in this morning’s paper was week as piss, Swan Districts don’t raise the white flag when things get tough, what an insinuation. His prediction of 5000 spectators fell short by many, where were the Swans fans in the McDonalds stand today Mr Hodyl, didn’t exceed the West Perth fans in the adjacent stand. Your statement, ITS THE GAME OF THE SEASON, again stupid statement. Swans / West Perth games have always attracted a good crowd and both clubs have had a good relationship so why would you Mr Hodyl come out with these ridiculous disrespectful statements. Your GEE UP BACKFIRED. Wasn’t Rudy magic today? Keep well all.

Where were the WP supporters yesterday; they most assuredly were not at Basso in great numbers?

There were over 4000 at Bogandean according to the West which is a pretty good result given it wasn't a special event game like WA Day derby or Anzac Day and the like.

BC a lot of fans came in at half time,When the gates where thrown open.Maby 4000 but probably 3,000 paying customers.

I must admit I was a bit disappointed with his low ball go at WP, I thought he was one of the good guys in the WAFL family.

but on the field we where great, gutsy effort and controled the game all day,tough game v Claremont next weekend 

Yep as I said on the Swans thread it was a cringeworthy episode and it obviously achieved the opposite to what was intended.
Not sure if the West Perth coaching staff would have mentioned it to the players pre-game but it probably wouldnt have made much difference yesterday because you were so much better skills wise anyway.
As for the crowd, I wander around the ground a fair bit during the game and I did see a lot of red and blue scarves and polo tops and there was a lot of crowd reaction when West Perth scored their (many) goals. 

It wouldn't surprise me one little bit if Hodyl was on the blower to his WP counterpart to give a heads up that it was coming and he was doing so to create a bit of interest. Things go on in the background most of us don't hear about and maybe this was one as they were bizarre comments to make if made off the cuff.

He is only expressing the tendency of the two clubs to dislike each other since the seventies.

BTW, how did the presentations go upstairs after the game, many there.
