Announced by the club a short time ago Garry Moss will be Earl's senior assistant in 2020 and take over as senior coach in 2021.

Garry won 2019 colts coach of the year and was an assistant this year with the championship winning u/18s. Earl Spalding will stay on in a director of coaching role in 2021 and beyond.

Sounds like good proactive planning to me

I did think that this may have been a chance to happen when it was announced that Garry was coming back to Perth.

Welcome back to the club Gary. Looking forward to a successful partnership between you and Earl.
I like the concept here. Another astute move by the club.
I was pleased to see Gary was returning but this succession plan is a very pleasant surprise.

I think Garry was pretty highly rated at Hawthorn but had his career curtailed by injury. Played under Clarko. A shrewd appointment I think.

This interloping fk is twice as irritating as Grassy ever was with his constant shit stirring

Well done Perth...it's good to see some forward planning and certainty around the club. It sounds to me the new broom installed when Bob Shields took over is having a positive affect.

I agree. For the first time in decades, us long suffering Demon loyals go into a season with expectation rather than just hope.

Yes, the new broom has been kept very busy right through the 2019 season and gained momentum since the start of the off season.
We must not underestimate the signing of Chris Masten. It was huge and the catalyst for the ongoing change happening at the club. Compare that signing and subsequent recruiting with what is happening at other clubs. A quick glance at the ins and outs topic tells us that most other clubs are experiencing difficulty finding quality recruits.
Of the other recruits being brought into PFC it is likely that not all of them will be world beaters but there is a solid influx to back up the Masten signing and the existing players.
Now we see changes to the coaching structure and a new role for Earl post his senior coaching role. This new role and the appointment of Garry Moss as Senior coach in waiting is a new and refreshing approach.
Yes Dazz, we can dare to put aside hope and go forward with expectations. A refreshing new era for the club awaits methinks.
