Hahaha your a funny man.
Cody wants to go to a club who’s record in the last 5 years is no better than ours.
8th,wooden spoon,8th,6th,8th yep now there’s a club on the up Cody,it’s a Shark frenzie.
It’s a move based purely on EF paying him overs to what he’s worth.

Do you really believe AFL scouts look at where clubs are finishing on ladders to determine whether they pick them up or not,a sandover medal in one state and a premiership medallion in another state still couldn’t help Tropianos AFL quest.

Add Sokol and Delahunty to that list..... yet. Playing back to back to back premierships haven't guaranteed being drafted. Sokol got age on his side.

Tiger Tales, you ask why we would want to keep Leggett when he wants out. Many reasons. 1. He is a good player. 2. He is under contract. It would set a very bad precedent, not just for Perth, but for other WAFL clubs, to allow a contracted player to leave just because he wants to. 3. If the suggestions put up on this site are to be believed, EF are offering terms that are nothing short of insulting. If all that is offered is a $10k transfer fee, we would get that even if he wasn't contracted. 4. If he and the club have a good season he may yet change his mind and re-sign with Perth.

Leggett harbours AFL ambitions. I agree with others who say he is unlikely to have what it takes to get drafted. However, his slim chances would reduce to zero if, as you suggest, he sits out the season, or puts in a half hearted effort with Perth. As much as I am annoyed at him wanting to leave Perth, I'd like to think that if he stays he would have enough pride, self-respect, professionalism and ambition to play to the best of his ability.

He won’t be going back to Perth. It’s whether he’s at EF that is the story.

I’m not sure you’d want a player that wants to leave- 9/10 the deals get done in the AFL. It’s just a matter of the 2 clubs negotiating a deal. Perth are better off taking the cash and throwing it at another ex-AFL player.

This is where it becomes obvious you are a little bit slow. What happens when AFL clubs want a contracted player from that club he is contracted to? You have to pay overs. Simple as that.

KCEF, why do say Leggett will be at EF or nothing? Do you seriously think he would sit out the season? When you say take "the cash" do you know how much is being offered? If it is the same amount that we would get once he's out of contract, what possible incentive is there for us to accept that? We're better off getting one more year out of him and getting the cash next year. And in terms of using the money to get a de-listed AFL player, we almost certainly wouldn't have enough points to do that. Ultimately, I don't know where PFC sits on this, but I would be very disappointed if our board let Leggett go for a standard transfer fee. I guess we're going around in circles here and it's a case of wait and see what pans out. But I just find it remarkable that EF fans seem to think we have some kind of moral obligation to release any disgruntled player. Perhaps you think the disappointment of missing finals for the 22nd consecutive year will be offset by the warm fuzzy feeling we will get by being nice to Cody Leggett?

I don't think Leggett can go back now- that's my opinion. I'm not sure why Perth would want him back anyways. I don't know what's being offered- I would find it hard to believe that it wasn't overs- as everyone has said- EF has to come to the party if Perth was to clear him. I'm not sure where Perth is at points wise- maybe they could throw the transfer fee to Tropiano to get him to play.

KCEF, we want him back because he's a good player and we need good players. Both parties need to be professional. The club in the sense of not getting our back up and saying "if you don't want us, we don't want you" and Leggett in the sense of understanding that Perth have every right to hold him to his contract. This happens all the time in the AFL. Players want to move, but can't, they get drafted or traded to a club they would rather not be at. Despite that, they play the best footy they can. I would expect Leggett, if he stays at Perth, to be professional enough to do the same.

Well said Ted and if he continues to show this sort of petulance he can kiss his AFL aspirations goodbye. He needs to start showing good character if he wants to become an AFL player.

Quill is still on EF list on their website but I believe he’s training at Perth- so I assume he’ll get there. Will be a handy addition and good enough to play League footy.
