I would have thought that he would be in our best 22.
As many one point players as possible thank you.
Leaves the option to buy another with points.

Troppy would be a good replacement for Jones, as he is a similar type player. We still need a fast outside mid as well. I have expressed a hope before that Narrier may step up, but others on this site have been unconvinced. I had a quick flick through our senior players list and note that Cary is no longer listed. I don't rate him, and that, along with Jones, frees up a few more points. Now that Subi can't get Clarke, should we have a crack, or is there a concern that with his AFL career over, he'll just take the money and coast along ?

That would be part of the puzzle TN. I agree we should do what it takes to get Troppy back and find a fast outside mid. IMO Gordo does not cut it. Payne or Bryan are useful. The latter may be better used on a wing than deep in defence.
Like you I don’t rate Cary...no loss if he has gone. Have heard a whisper Ninja may be gone. Have you any info on him? I hope that Magic will have a good pre season and have his head right for a big season.
Yes we should be interested in Clarke if he heads back to WA. He could be in big demand though. If not him we need to find an experienced ruckman.
To complete our jigsaw we must find a key forward and a tall defender.

Smokey, I'll keep banging the Narrier drum. What about remaking him as a half back, tp play the sort of role Leon Davis, Lewis Jetta, Bachar Houli play? That is, using his pace and kicking skills to set up play from half back. Some players are better with the ball coming at them. Certainly that was the making of Leon Davis.

Yep, fair call Ted. Jury still out for mine but willing to him let him show he can be value in that role. Chris Bryan could also fit that bill instead of taking the kick-ins from the full back line. Sinclair also does a bit of that.
I don't recall seeing Gordo tried as a running half back which leads me to a perceived lack of flexibility with some players not only in the initial lineup but more importantly during play.
There does seem to be a reluctance for timely moves during play to counter opposition run-ons. A classic example was that one game late last season when we were facing a potential debacle with supporters calling for Gibba to be thrown on the ball. That move came too late but when it did happen we very nearly stole the game back. Probably cost us a finals berth at the end of the day.
My point is that the coaching bench needs to be more pro-active, timely and even creative, when the opposition look like getting away from us. No sense sitting on hands and doing nothing.
Just MHO.

Good call.
I heard that an assistant had to call that one on override.

You should have said we had one of those pre Spalding. It was called Yellow Footy. Surprised you have forgotten STT but not surprised if you’ve had therapy to erase that little dark period from your memory. Can I get your therapists number?

I see that Wylie Buzza has been delisted by Geelong. With a name like that, he’s gotta be destined to become a Perth Demon?

I think you hit the nail clean smack bang on the head - our coaches need to be a lot more creative. That would be my only criticism of Earl. I get that we had a pretty ordinary bunch when it came to discipline last year and a few injuries didn't help, but it took too long to get creative and make changes. Look how long Denis and Carey stayed in the team with poor form, while Scotney, Payne and Roe sat in the Reserves. I agree with Narrier across half back to use his pace and skills.
