This game is huge in terms of not only strengthening our position in the top 5 but to prove we belong there. We beat Claremont at Lathlain earlier in the season and though we are only one win behind them, their percentage compared to ours indicates they have been a better side. For me it comes down to our ability to score. If our forwards fire including contributions from the midfield on the scoreboard then we are a big chance against anyone as we proved against the Bulldogs. I expect our forward line of Roe, Rogers, Bennell, Nynyette and Marshall Jones to be unchanged. They worked well together and got the job done against the Bullies.

Spot on DD...this will be a real test for your blokes as Claremont were very good against Subi last week. We kicked the first couple of the last quarter to put us almost 5 goals in front then the Tiges were all over us from that point on. Their ability to run the game out was very impressive indeed and their midfield is first class....this should be a ripper.

Yep we were in better form than them last time we met but we've shown signs we are getting back to our best and showing some promising signs. Hopefully it's a cracking game.

Claremont's massively overrated team will be similar to that we beat earlier in the year. They have beaten up on weak teams and run Subi close - but lost to them as they always do.

Our team will have at least 7 changes with no Corey Byrne, Mitch Lague, Jared Bell, Sam Garstone, Sean Smith, Kristian Cary and Lachlan Dennis from that which beat them at Latho.

CB a huge out and pity no fit ML and JB but I'm saying we'll be putting a better team out this Saturday.

Massively overrated STT? In what way? Anyway all will be revealed on Saturday.

Just to support my point that we shouldn't fear Claremont (which we don't of course, but on a review of season):
Rounds 1 to 3 - big wins over EF, WP and EP. Any club would have had big wins over these three clubs at that time.
Round 4 - they become first trad WAFL team to be beaten by WCE/
Round 5 - They bounce back by getting beaten by PFC.
Round 6 - They have a win over weakest peel/dockers team for the year
Round 7 - loss to Subi.
Rounds 8-12 - winning run against, WCE, SD, EP, EF, SF. Only win of note there is that over Souths and Souths off the boil by then.
Round 13 - loss to subi.

If Claremont had played a strong peel or wp after they found their feet or had beaten subi ok but they haven't. They have a very very soft underbelly this mob.

So Perth have been beaten by West Perth (twice), East Fremantle and belted by Subiaco, so does that make them overrated too?
Don't get me wrong I think Perth do have a great chance of beating the Tigers again but I do think its a bit rich for a Demons supporter to be labelling Claremont as having a 'soft underbelly'. They have been good enough to beat teams that have been put out in front of them and they are 2nd on the ladder.

I guess the argument to your points is that although in 8-12 they mainly won against weaker teams, some of those teams beat us and other came very close to beating us. I think Claremont are a lot quicket than us through the middle and deliver it to their forwards a lot better than we do. To win this we need to hit the forwards lace out and make the most of inside 50 entries.

You are miles off guys. When I call them overrated has nothing to do with PFC. No one talks about PFC being any good nor should they. But everyone assumes Claremont are good and that they are the team most likely to take it up to subi. It’s rubbish. They have rarely made finals in recent years despite having a great zone and a better than average squad. You go through their seasons under Harris and tell me whether any talk of them being good is overrating them or not.
They are overrated regardless of how my team is travelling, make a case they’re not.

After watching Claremont at close quarters last week their one weakness is their reliance on Tom Lee to be the main scoring option. Bradshaw weighs in as does Richardson on occasions but if you shut down Lee, then you go a long way towards winning the match. He's kicked 27 of their 141 goals this season or around 20 percent. Spalding would do well to spend some time this week looking at vision of Lee if he has it, his running patterns and where he positions himself when the ball enters their forward 50 with a view to taking away his time and space. He copped a decent shit mixer early in the second qtr and didn't remerge until well into the 3rd. In that time Subi had 12 scoring shots to Claremont's 6 even though the inside 50s were similar and that was mainly because they were lacking a consistent avenue to goal.
