Mark, should Medhurst still be on an AFL list?

Reimers should.

Please let Harding know your thoughts as every bit of complacency may help our cause.

I think the dilemma for swans coaching staff is the amount of unknowns in the Perth squad. If they get 2or 3 matchups wrong against our new 10 odd players in the senior squad we might find someone who could be a match winner!
We lost our last two games last year by two goals so this will ne a decent indicator of the strength of both sides.

Really glad to see Hansen gone! He was one player we could never match up on!

Yes, it's facinating isn't it?

We are definitely unknowns, to ourselves as well.

But I differ in the view to some. I think our squad is actually more talented than last year and their enthusiasm is catching. They are certainly more committed and I am sure tomorrow will be a good game.

I am certainly looking forward to it if Swans take us lightly.

9 Years? We are getting closer to our next win at Basso.

DF, my view is also that we are not less talented than last year. On pure talent the significant losses in my mind are Ross Young and Leon Davis. Of the other twenty or so that have gone, Elari is a loss but he didn't want to be with us and it showed in his footy, JKT played one game all year and McDougall didn't play at all, so difficult to make a case for those 3 as being significant losses. There are probably a few others that I might have preferred to stay on (i.e. Zucconi - one of my favourite players, and Billings etc), but the majority are replaceable, and in my mind have been replaced.
On the upside Chance Bateman and Reimers square the ledger to a certain extend regarding Youngy and Davis, then throw in Daniel Murray (I bit 'wild' we all know, but obviously the best ruckman we've had for quite some time), young Lyondekkers is a talented work in progress, Risol and Sketcher have been terrific additions and Johnston adds a dimension that we've been missing for a long time, there are others. Paul Bevan is playing like a man with his talent and experience should and leading by example.
So just on a quick talent comparison I think the ledger is better this year. But in my mind the greatest improvement is coming from several of our home grown young players, whom we all know of, coupled with a team spirit and enthusiam that I have not seen in a Perth squad for many a long year. I observed it on every occaision that I watched pre-season training and it's been evident in the 2 games to date.
I know that 2 games doesn't make a season and I'm not getting carried away at all, 35 years of suffering has taught me that!! The first big test is tomorrow and I think the boys will give a good account of themselves. Regardless of the result if they continue to play in the way they've demonstrated so far, their journey and positive development will continue. The Club should be applauded for the work being done (and P.S, I'm not connected with anyone at the Club and have been just as critical of our past performances as many other passionate supporters).

Can't even remember how many games we won last year 6 or 7, got a way to go before we pass that so talking about this years team and last years is a moot point until we better the 2012 performance JKT would be leading Subi's f&b at this stage so thats a massive loss imo.

Bit of premature ejactulation going on, the two games we've won have been against a couple os sides that will be around 7th to 9th on the ladder at years end.
Next two games will paint a picture of where we are really at in the next couple of weeks.

Next 3 games are Swans away, EF home and EP home. Lets see how we are going after playing 5 games (25%) of the season. Hopefully a couple more wins :) :) :) :)

Miles on Reimers, I hope so. You are right the main concern will be Hams run from defence. We might put Boyle on him like he played on Craig White last week and negated his run.

Spot on.
And yes how quickly some turn, classing KT as no loss and wont be missed all because he was injured last season well if thats the case then he would have been a top recruit for us this season!!

All these home games in a row are great but wait till the halfway mark of the season when its all reversed and they are all become away games.
Long season and a fair way to go before we can start boasting that this has changed and that has changed and its all working etc...
