TOPIC:

Having been at the very first match at Lathlain in 1959, I was going to make an effort and come up (for the second week in a row) to be there for this match.
However, it is the TV match so have decided to come up another time.
I am probably expecting Claremont to win but also expect the kids to put in once again.
This group is an exciting group and I think we have the coach to take them forward.
Go DEES.

Yep, I was there also for the first game at Lathlain Park.
I remember watching the ground grow from the days the bulldozers sculptured the ground and banks, the turf was laid and then as the grandstand was built.

Our first game was against Swan Districts which from memory we won.
I believe that was the day that Perth pulled a surprise by playing Don Dalton, a rover and older brother of Paddy, at full forward and he kicked 7 goals which was no mean trick because in those days Swans boasted big Joe Lawson the State fullback.

Perhaps it is a shame that the first game on this new oval was not also scheduled as a Perth versus Swans game.

And the weather is also looking good for the weekend. Should see a bumper crowd turn up.

Kicked a higher score then every other winning team today. Go figure.

Not a good performance today. Sloppy skills, poor decision making. What is it with half time with this team? Once again went missing in the third quarter. Some excitement from the youngsters but not enough to be competitive. Claremont are a top notch team. Hard running, good skills, key forwards, dynamic midfield They lost Ryan Neates early and still cruised. Young Bailey Banfield, seemed to be running with Jonesy, top game. And Matt Guelfi, unlucky not to get drafted from the colts, did some really classy things.

Don't know I asked the question what does this club stand for all I heard were crickets, we were smashed today in the midfield and defence, absolute bullshit that we are sending out a colts team this result is what happens and still a lot of tough teams to come, I'd say the confidence of the young kids won't be far away from rock bottom soon enough.
