Liam Ryan was outstanding for Subi and definitely the difference between the teams. Giblitt was on him for most of the game and tried really hard but didn’t get enough support.

We missed a few sitters which hurt, Tropiano kicking into the man on the mark 30 out and Colledge missed from 35 straight out.

I’d like to know the free kick count inside 50 for both teams. The umpiring was ok but felt we didn’t get dealt any favours.

Moirsey came off second best against a goal post in last quarter and looked pretty sore. Colledge and another player (maybe Gooch) were both off for around a half so that didn’t help matters.

A few players that would be borderline for further games would be Wilkins and Walley. Walley kicked a nice goal but lost a couple of key man on man contests in the last quarter and dropped a mark from a kick in although the lighting at that stage was pretty average, whilst Wilkins just deems to get moved off the ball too easily

Looking forward to another good effort next week on the new grass

What you have written in bold above is unbelievable in the fact I had just written the same almost word for word before I saw your post
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Liam Ryan is one of the standout players. Looks like he has taken his game to another level with 9 goals in the opening fortnight.

BTW I saw Wally pull out too easily in the first quarter as well. Also sorry Cal but saw a half arsed tackle attempt in the first quarter to boot. Seems a great guy and good communicator and good member of the club - but needs a bit of time in the Ressies.

Who to replace him? Not Stack who's numbers don't look great in Ressies.

I expect to loose next week unfortunately especially with the opening of the new grounds. Grounds only btw. There are no improvements in facilities as of yet and parking will be hell I imagine, but the two games after are a must.

Hope 3000 get there next week as a big welcome back

Perfect example of whats wrong with this club supporters accepting mediocrity, should never ever be happy with a loss.

It was hardly mediocrity PN. Pretty harsh. Were you at the game??
Sure, a loss is not acceptable but the players deserve credit for their courage and fierce tackling that made Subiaco look a little mediocre at times. We have to learn that lapses in concentration cost games. Seven debutants if you count Byrne who was playing only his 4th game.

Yep I was at the game and the players efforts were great against one of the weaker Subi sides I'd seen on paper anyway for years, as for the mediocrity comment, I don't think I've seen any other club supporters happy with a loss theres a certain losing culture when you think like that.

I said it last week with out the bigger bodies and experience this young side will tire and be exploited during games only natural and when you lose one of your bigger bodied players in Colledge with a hammy it only makes it harder next eeek.

All the more reason to get behind a young side and encourage them PN. Those smaller bodies are not going to grow overnight. Some of those kids are only 18 FFS and it will take time. But they are showing great courage in their first few games against men.
If you are still a supporter of the club "get with the programme", get behind the team. Nothing will be changed by total negativity. If you don't like it go and find another club that will satisfy your needs.

You're so full of shit because I'm not a glass half full kind of guy I don't support the club lol I'm a realist , you need to get out of fantasy land the club may not even be there next year, you really think this club has time on its hands for another rebuild.

Wow I just can't believe this post, maybe my expectations of no flag for 40 years and no finals appearance for 20 years are out of whack.
Im stuffed if I know where we are at.
Do I think In January Spalding had this season penciled in as a rebuild?
Nup don't think he did, Mzunga was drafted in November plenty of time to find a replacement, yes Graham was a late out but I can't help but think Spalding has been let down by some at the club.
Mediocre recruiting in the off season and it's no wonder we are zip and 2 such a familiar start to the season for us.

We have these gallant efforts, near misses, out scored the opposition for 3 quarters every year at the end of the day they mean nothing.

PN I agree with you.

Saw the second half of this game and following on from last week was impressed with Perth. You cooked a few opportunitys from what I saw and the maggots didn't like you either when it got to within 12 pts in the last. Lots to look forward to I reckon
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

I saw today's game, the first for the year.
It will not be my last for the year.
Before I have my say, just take a look at the words of wisdom on my profile!
Yes I also like to win.
But I have to say that there is a lot to like about the kids at our club.
There are quite a number of them that have terrific skills.
For the first time in a long time someone said to me today that we looked pacey.
It is a long time since I thought we were anywhere near matching Subiaco's pace.
Some of our kids whilst tall are not as developed physically as the more mature Subi players but I thought we were hard at the footy and actually stood up physically.
I do not like losing but I thought we were good today
Morisey's Effort in the last quarter was sensational and if these kids give that effort week in and week out I'll be happy.
This year is very important these kids are talented and will give their all.
As a Club we have a responsibility to teach them about their mistakes. Back them in like Spalding has. To help them want to stay and play and to help them to find the desire to work hard to improve their game and to develop physically
They will give their all and I believe that they are not far away from their first win and I think they will win more games than some people think.
Sorry but that is my opinion.
AND NO I DIDN'T LIKE GETTING BEATEN TODAY.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!
I shot the fukin sherriff!!!!
