Well I'm hoping the boys take their goal kicking shoes today, still traumatized after the corresponding game last year ---- 4.19!!!

Here we go again. Take out the first 20 minutes of the third quarter, Perth outscored Subi by 18 points for the rest of the game. This has happened week after week for the past few years. Perth go nigh-nights for 15-20 minutes a game and that's the difference. No radio coverage so all I had was the wafl app so no idea what the game was like but at least it looked like Perth fought back to avoid a blow out.

I have never been happier with a loss. I think we looked very good for long periods. I missed the first 25 minutes of the 3rd quarter but other than that I was there and loved it.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

It looked like 22 players missed the first 25 minutes of the third quarter as well! But I'm glad the rest was good.

If there was a definition for a gallant loss then this was it. Played bloody well apart from that 15-20 minute period in the third. Fought back well late in the third to only be 18 points down at three quarter time. Kicked the first and looked like we had the momentum but just couldn't get that next one to bring it back to within a kick.

A loss is still a loss though and it shits me but if we show the same improvement that we did this week compared to last week then we should take it right up to Claremont next Saturday.

Perfect example of whats wrong with this club supporters accepting mediocrity, should never ever be happy with a loss.

As gutsy an effort as you would see from a losing team.
Sadly we fell away again after half time for a period but regained composure to apply the same sort of pressure that we did in the first half. But the damage was done.
Probably Subi's greater experience told in the end but they did not have it their own way for much of the game.
Perth supporters should not be disappointed with these first two games. If we continue with the same intent and courage our first win will not be far away. The kids are fitting in well and you could see that they were more confident this week and will only get better.
A courageous effort by the boys finishing the last quarter and a bit with only two men on the bench and losing Kristian Morisey on debut in the last quarter after an amazing defensive effort which stopped a certain goal but brought him off the ground following a heavy crash into a goal post. Courage personified.
Fear not. This team have wins in them and it wont be long before they make
opposing sides take them seriously.
A special mention of the much maligned Christian Eyres who racked up 38 hitouts and did a lot of heavy work. Hitouts were 48 to 30.

Not happy with a loss PN but couldn’t question the endeavour and plenty to like about the way they played and future prospects.

Liam Ryan was outstanding for Subi and definitely the difference between the teams. Giblitt was on him for most of the game and tried really hard but didn’t get enough support.

We missed a few sitters which hurt, Tropiano kicking into the man on the mark 30 out and Colledge missed from 35 straight out.

I’d like to know the free kick count inside 50 for both teams. The umpiring was ok but felt we didn’t get dealt any favours.

Moirsey came off second best against a goal post in last quarter and looked pretty sore. Colledge and another player (maybe Gooch) were both off for around a half so that didn’t help matters.

A few players that would be borderline for further games would be Wilkins and Walley. Walley kicked a nice goal but lost a couple of key man on man contests in the last quarter and dropped a mark from a kick in although the lighting at that stage was pretty average, whilst Wilkins just deems to get moved off the ball too easily

Looking forward to another good effort next week on the new grass

That was a great effort by Morisey Smokey. I thought he played very well on debut. Looks like Colledge has done a hammy. Obviously the third term hurt us but having 3 on the bench to start the last quarter and then 2 when Morisey went down probably hurt us as well.

It was hardly mediocrity PN. Pretty harsh. Were you at the game??
Sure, a loss is not acceptable but the players deserve credit for their courage and fierce tackling that made Subiaco look a little mediocre at times. We have to learn that lapses in concentration cost games. Seven debutants if you count Byrne who was playing only his 4th game.
