That was certainly our best win for the season but lets not get carried away.
Swans right now are where we have been for the last lot of years.

At least wait until half way through next season before we start contract talks with Spalding.

Make no mistake we still lack a couple of KPP's as well as a second ruck.
Lets see how fair dinkum this club is or are they waiting for 2018??

I agree with you DD.
We have some emerging players, I was impressed with Thompson today.
And I think Marlin should persevered with.
I also agree Latch, Johnston and Spencer White could make a difference.
I would like to see Garstone put some weight on and work on his agility.
He has surprised me this year.
All in all a great game today and nice to see us put them away in style when challenged.
What this side needs is a couple of wins in a row to build confidence.
I probably won't pick them but I think we may be a silly chance against EP.

No one is getting carried away here but when you are clearly not going to play finals this year I look for the little wins and gains and improvement. I think Earl is building something here and u can't fault the way he addresses the players and speaks to the media. He knows he hasn't got the best list so he knows their limitations but I think he's giving them the right messages and he's showing faith in young players and backing them in. I think the club should show the faith in him and extend his contract by two years or at least one at the end of the season.

We have made the mistake of extending coaches contracts when they have sufficient time left. Lets see where we are after 10 games next season.

I agree Mr AFL,no harm in sitting back and seeing where we are after 10 games before making a decision on the coach.
Lets face it the bottom line how a coach is judged is through there win loss record so 10 games in next season will give us a good look as to where Snake is at and if he deserves an extension he will get it.

Theres no doubt he has some good young talent at his disposal, some good mature players, some more kids coming through from the 2016 colts and lets also hope some good decision making is made for future recruiting to our needs.

Liked the game of Matt Thompson...with Garstone and perhaps Stevenson coming in that would make 3 good targets up there. Etto was also good, probably best game for the club.
For mine good team effort, perhaps though Irons and Wilkins may struggle to get a game with perhaps Latch and Stevenson to come in for the next game?

Would love to have Latch back for EP, I think we may need his height.
Just watched the last quarter again, as visitors walked in yesterday.
Was worried when SD kicked the first goal of the quarter.
But they really worked hard and of all things ran hard.
Was good to see.
I think confidence is a big thing and I am hoping at some stage all of a suden they will start kicking them and things may just improve on the win list.

Latch (198cm), Stevenson (192cm) would be good inclusions to help with the height of East Perth along with Thompson (190cm) who played a good game against the Ducks.

Agree that a coach is mainly addressed through their win and loss record but there are also little signs of improvement to look at to see if the group has improved under a coaches tenure.

Last season we averaged 63.5 points for and 106.9 points against. This season after the first 10 games we are averaging 63.4 points for but only 89.7 points against. So we have improved our defensive aspect by roughly three goals which is an improvement.

Most game this year bar the South Fremantle match our endeavour has been there and I think we are going with sides for longer during a game than what we have for a couple of seasons. Still though we let ourselves down through poor skill execution and the oppositions ability to capitalise on the errors we make.

I think the absence of Spencer White has hurt us in attack as when he has played I have thought that the team tends to go long and direct more often as they have a target to kick to. Even the absence of Christian Eyres has hurt in this area as with him being the back up ruck this would allow Angus Graham to play forward more often and he always makes a contest.

We currently have won one more game than we did last year but for the rest of the season I would like to see forward 50 entries improved, some of the young colts players from this year and even last year play some senior football, trying to kick an extra 2-3 goals a game while also bring our average points against down by a goal or two and hopefully have a better run with injuries particularly to our taller players.

At the very least his presence will give Gus a breather in the forward line. Please don't make this switch a bench rotation, except on a Hot August Day.

Yeah poor old Gus looked absolutely knackered in the last quarter.
