Very true Grassy. We knocked off Claremont for our first win of the year and it's going to take a similar effort against WP who will come to Lathlain confident and determined to keep their winning streak going.

It's going to come down to two things, belief and skill execution. WP have always had it over us in both departments in the last 10 years or so.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Perth winning this match, by say 2 goals would not be in the realms of fantasy.
I think in week 2 when West Perth hosted the Demons, it being a close well contested match for most of the afternoon? Only 3 goals separated the teams at three quarter time? It was only in the last quarter Perth fell away.
If Perth can play out the four quarters instead of 3, they'll give themselves every chance of a win.
Perth are currently averaging a score of 74 pts for Home games, whilst West Perth are averaging 65 pts for their Away matches.
The question will be, how are Perth going to handle the wet conditions?

Gees not much traffic about this game on Sat. After last weeks attendances I hope these two teams bring some sort of semblance of respectability back to the WAFL.
Will be enjoying a Presidents lunch with 4 of my brothers, 4 mates, 2 sons and a nephew before expecting an as usual 2 and a half quarter close contest and an eventual 6 to 7 goal loss.
What has happened to Spencer White btw?
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

West Perth have won 11 out of their last 12 games at Lathlain Park. The winning sequence was broken by a game in 2008 which was a draw. The last time Perth beat West Perth at Lathlain was 2004. That's a home away from home for the Falcons.

Spencer White has an issue with his foot. Shin splints I think. Was in the paper a couple of weeks ago.

Re-White the club lists him as out for 4 weeks with a foot injury as of the 18th May.

As for the game we dont as a rule go well against WP and they are rarely close games.
There spread of the ball, pace and the skill set that comes with that pace is what generally gets us.

Goal scoring is still a huge problem for us.
We dont have an individual who looks capable of scoring a bag-full,kicking 14 goals or more is still an issue and unless you can consistantly get around that mark then you will lose more than you win.
Our defence is also fragile.

If its a dry deck today i'd expect us to be competitive for small periods of the game but the end result could be another big losing margin.

Thing is, Freo were 9-0 this time last year, messed up in the finals and are 0 - 9 the following year..footy has a short memory sometimes.....hopefully Perth's colts can go all the way tho.....which guys are standouts to be drafted?...and if not drafted are good enough like a Zac Fisher or Jared Bell to have an immeadiate impact on PFC league aspirations......
