SD and Perth on the bottom of the ladder gets a bigger crowd then the rest.

This must tell the WAFC to stop looking after Peel, EP and Subi (you guys have had far too much fro the arrangement at Subi oval)

And start looking after Perth and SD

I'd be staggered if there were 1700 there yesterday! That figure must include players, officials and staff!

I came in twice so you can take 1 off the final tally.

Congratulations to Perth on winning all three games today.

TFAF the WAFC taking steps to look after the WAFL competition is about as likely as the umpires following one of their parts of their charter which concerns their duty of care to all players at all times. In the games at Lathlain Park Oval today we say two incidents which just demonstrated how little they care about the welfare of the players. In the first incident in the colts' match a Swans' player and a Perth player clash. Even though the Perth player was within 5 metres of the action and the fact that he wasn't moving at all none of the umpires officiating thought that there was any need to stop the match and determine the severity of the player's injury. The second incident occurred in the league match and again the umpires didn't demonstrate any concern for the players involved. Further when the stretcher was brought onto the field the player in question walked off the oval. My understanding is that once a stretcher has been brought onto the ground then the play must be stopped and the player carried off on the stretcher.

Yes I saw that and it was pretty piss poor from the umps. They seemed to have no idea what the correct protocol was once the stretcher came on the field. Been a few incidents this season in colts games where the umpires have been clueless. Same thing happened after the Yukich and Thompson collision in the league.

Garstone was a very good Colts player but has taken a bit of time to adapt to senior footy. I have viewed him as a somewhat lazy player but yesterday he had a breakout game and showed some glimpses of his potential. Not many players can give Ames problems but Sam did yesterday.
Latch has taken his game to new levels IMO and has become very reliable. Combines well with Belly.
Sinclair had a very good game and appears back to his best form.
Jones does tend to turn the ball over a bit but 47 possessions. He gets to where the ball is and he is influential.
Angus is doing great. 44 hitouts, 18 possessions including 6 marks and 2 goals. He is working well on the ball and around the ground.

I agree with Latch, I think we have found a reliable tall.
Good to see Sinclair get a bit of it, he is a good player, hopefully can return to consistent good form.
The good part about your comment on Angus, is the 18 possessions around the ground. He took a couple of good grabs yesterday.
Jones does get the ball 47 touches does say something but he can't kick.
Chuffed to have the win, and the rooms would have been buzzing.
Be nice if it buzzed every week.

Great win especially when we lost Matt Thompson early on. Well done boys. Keep it up for next week vs East Fremantle.

Anyone notice the call from the runner, last qtr I think to Angus to go forward? How refreshing having a coach who has a feel for the game instead of having a 6ft 8 or so ruckman sitting on the pine.

C22 would that be the disenfranchised supporters of the now defunct East Perth Football Club?

I braced myself when he and Troy(Yukich)were about to collide and jeez,it must gave bloody stung.

It looked like the Swans' big man was worse off to start with, but in the end,Matt never came back.Hope both are ok,allowing for the fact Troy came back.

I'm a bit puzzled why in incidents like that,Clubs don't take the absolute precaution of using a stretcher, more often.I'm not entirely sure the umpires alone can be singled out here and I'm not suggesting we start pointing fingers at them or the trainers for starters.

Most assuredly they can Grassy for a number of reasons. The first is that they control the game. If there are any doubts the game should be stopped immediately. Secondly they are generally closer to the incident than any of the trainers etc. I am not sure whether you saw the incident in the earlier game where the Perth player came off second best in a clash with a Swans' player and did not move for a lengthy period of time. Meanwhile the umpires allowed play to continue within metres of the player. I hasten to add this should be in the context of what happens when an umpire goes down, the reaction time to blow the whistle and stop play would rival Usain Bolt's reaction time off the blocks in a 100 metre Olympic final.

Was a good win and a number of players played their best games of the season so far.

However skills still need to drastically improve. Better skill level should have seen us kick 4 or 5 more goals on Saturday.

Against the better teams we won't be allowed to get away with sloppy passages of play.

Happy for the win and the four points. My weeks always seem to be better when we win :)
