Smokey i think some stats (not all stats) can be misleading.
I think we over-use the ball way to often both in handball and kicking(sideways,backwards,15 metres etc..) and our skill level well thats probably a seperate topic..it just never improves.

For mine our forward line structure and not just our KPP's forward but our whole front 6 has been an issue for how long now??
Many many many seasons now and we still cant get it right.


Angus Graham will be just 1 more recruit we drive out of this club because of the workload expected and the lack of back-up within the club and theres always the recruiting promise of "finals success" that never eventuates..

Another thing that gets me is how many long term injuries we get every season!!
I know all clubs cop injuries but we seem to get more at the top end..out for a month,out for half a season,out for the season.
Do we have lousy rehab set ups?
Are we doing the right warm ups and cool downs?
Why every season do we have so many long term injuries(a month and longer)?

I agree 30+...our skill level is well below the standard required of top four WAFL sides and that leads to poor decision making. Without doubt we must improve in both areas.
My point is that at least we are getting our share of the ball. What we do with it is the problem.

The influence of experienced players such as Jones and Graham is,IMO, having a positive effect on the player group but there is still more work to be done and the further recruitment of experienced players will go a long way towards further lifting the skills and the smarts of the team as a whole.

De-listed AFL players will be a key in the near future... players such as McInnes, College, Mzungu, Mayne, Tunbridge must not be lost to other clubs when they are finished with AFL. If they are going to return to the WAFL it must be in the Red and Black jumper.

What happened to Johnston & Boyes who played last year ?

Johnston sustained a bad ankle injury early in the season. He's out for the season unfortunately. Not sure about Boyes.

Todd Stevenson is another one.. we have missed his height up forward and helping Angus in the ruck would have been handy...played his first game for the year last week in the ressies

Not saying that we would be right up the top of the ladder but injuries have really hurt is this season especially the ones to Eyres, Johnston, Spencer White, Todd Stevenson and apparently Latchy from the weekend.

Bottom line is our skills aren't good enough but having those players available would have certainly helped and may have seen us with potentially one or two more wins.

Clem Hill comes out contract this year too....can't see him staying on Carlton's list...
