For his club to stop being the laughing stock of the competition there needs to be major changes off field and on field. I will start with off field.

Marty, you need to relinquish your role as CEO and take over the Football Managers job full time and not be half CEO half FM. Put your fulltime commitment into being Football Manager which I believe will suit your football background far better. Get out there in the field and fix this club, get out to the grass roots, our suburban and country zones and schools and put the Perth Football club front and centre and scout the talent that is out there. I do not believe for one second we have all the best talent available in our zones coming through our club.

You need to be in constant touch with coaches about the progress of these young footballers in these areas and put programs in place that promotes the very best talent on a pathway to the Perth FC.

Maybe Tyson Beattie has the credentials to be club CEO and in charge of marketing with his media background. If any of you are not prepared to put the clubs best interest first then move on.

No more holidays during crucial periods to recruit players from clubs both here, interstate and delisted AFL players. Earl Spalding deserves your commitment. Give him the cattle he needs to compliment the core group of players he has now that are capable of taking the club forward on a path to onfield success for the next 5 years and beyond.

Thirdly, time for the head honcho's of this club to get serious about bring this club onfield success instead of just rocking up year in year out and running the joint like a boys club. This isn't the Freemasons for past players and benefactors to meet up for a social catch up and chit chat and eat sandwiches and have a few coldies.

If you are not serious about onfield success then please vacate your positions and allow new people to come in with fresh ideas, enthusiasm and hunger for success.

We don't want to be teased with a 6th place next year with 10 wins and fall away again the following season, we want sustained success. GET SERIOUS FFS!!!

Many of us loyal supporters have fallen away over the past few years and this year is one of the darkest in the clubs history, if you are not aware of that then you must have been asleep at the wheel while this car crash of a season has taken place.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Theres certainly a lot of stuff that needs to go down for us to play finals,on and off-field.
Im not sold on any of our off-field leaders, they are yet to prove themselves where it counts.

For mine the only improvement i want to see is us playing finals.
This club as far as im concerned have used up all there petrol tickets when it comes to "just improving the wins on the previous year".
It has to be finals plain and simple.

We have enough utility players at this club...don't recruit anymore!!
Tall timber plus KPP's and quality mids is what we need.
Target and recruit the right players, enough of the excuses!

A lot of damage is being done with these piss poor years with membership numbers and supporters dropping off not to mention the affect it must be having on keeping and getting new sponsors on board.

Well said DD. We need people who are serious about getting the club up and running again. If they are just there for the lunches and free functions then please piss off. With WCE coming into the picture in the future, we need people with Perth's interests at heart, not just hanging onto the eagles coat tails.

I totally agree with most of the comments but unfortunately all the damage has been done
I think Earl has done a tremendous job with the cattle he has
The problem is with the CEO,board and assistant coaches
Kayde Lang was always a Backman and now in charge of midfield
Ruck also coaches wongan ballidu(finished bottom of ladder)
Trevor William couldn't get peel thunder of the bottom
Maybe next year earl with have some say in his coaching staff

In regards to players, what has been done this year with playing the youth
This should have been done 2 yrs ago and perth would then be a top 4 chance
What will happen now is it will take at least 2 yrs to get this group playing good team footy
And then the Eagles come in and all these players won't get a look in

Unfortunately the damage has been done and perth will spend the next 2 yrs on the bottom
You can't create a winning formula if u lose 58 players over 3 yrs and poss another
10-15 this year

Can't believe how quick the season has gone. Only seems like yesterday that it was round one.

It hasn't been a good year for the Demons with the team only winning two games however there were some positives to take from the season.
  1. The recruitment of players such as Aidan Tropiano, Liam McKenna and Brett Wolfenden has been a success. Tropiano and McKenna have added to our midfield while Wolfenden has added some outside pace, even if he does turn the ball over from time to time.

Jacob Payne despite him having his critics on here has played every game and is a good solid footballer. I think he does a lot of unrewarded running and while he his another who can turn the ball over from time to time you would give his recruitment a tick at this stage.

Toby Gianatti has had some good performances but at times and this is not through lack of trying hasn’t had an impact on games. He was being used as a defence forward so you could argue that this role would also contribute as to be fair the ball didn’t really spend a lot of time in our forward 50 this year. I think he still has a role to play, whether he continues as a defensive forward or even if he goes back to the backline where he played when he finished in the top three in the best and fairest at Peel.

Callum Walley has slowly got better each game he played and had some pretty good performances over the last month or so. Kicked 14 goals in his last six games as well as averaging 4 tackles over that period. Makes the odd clanger by disposal but he showed a fair bit in his last six games and I hope to see him at the club in 2016. Has pace as well which is something we don’t have a lot of at the club.

Brent Latch was another who showed signs that he could hold down a key defensive role. I like Latch and Johnson as key defenders but think that we still need to get another key defender down there so that Latch can take the second tall and Johnson can either take the third tall or sit in-between the full forward and centre half forward.

  2. It may have taken a while but it was pleasing to see young players finally getting a go at league level. You have to blood the kids at WAFL level and this as has been spoken about before on here is something we have struggled to do. Jarred Bell (19 games), Michael Sinclair (14 games), Cody Leggett (14 games), Brent Edmonds (11 games), Scott Doncon (11 games), Kurtis Chester (10 games), Ben Power (10 games), Reid Polak (7 games), Haydn Tanner (5 games), Marshall Jones (5 games) and Sam McGillivray (4 games) all showed promising signs at one stage or another throughout 2015 and I look forward to seeing which players benefit from another preseason in 2016.

  3. The word from the players was that the preseason done between the end of 2014 and the start of the 2015 season was one of the hardest done at the club for a number of years. Looking back over the last 20 games it was clear that the players were fitter than what they’ve previously been however they are still a fair way off from the top teams in this area. I hope that the fitness staff led by Frank Rodriquez and Matthew Olds continue to push the players over preseason and we can see more improvements in this area again next year.

One thing that we can improve on that is in our control is our decision making, skill execution and the way we transition the football, particularly out of the backline. I reckon I would have counted at least 5-6 goals a game that cost us. Through poor ball use when entering our own forward 50 and missing easy targets we missed the chance to at least have shots on goal and then poor decisions and ball use when bringing the ball out of our backline led to turnovers that resulted in goals to the opposition. We had an average loosing margin of eight goals this year.

If the fitness of the players improves again next year like I mentioned above then this should see the players less fatigued which means they should be able to make better decisions and execute their skills for longer. Or at least that’s what all the fitness buffs say haha. If we are able to reduce these turnovers then the average loosing margin obviously drops and we are in games for longer, giving us a better chance of winning more matches.

Recruiting can be hit and miss and you never really know what you are going to get out of some players but the stuff mentioned above is within our control and can be addressed in the offseason.

Recruiting For 2016

You are allowed a maximum of 120 points to be spread out evenly over the squad. At last check I think our team total was around 102 points. This leaves 18 points to be spent on players.

All players try hard when they’re at the club and give their all however sometimes tough calls need to be made. If we are able to get somewhere between 35-40 points this is where I would look at addressing first.

Ruckman - We need a ruckman desperately that can give our midfielders first use of the ball and offer more of a presence around the ground and in front of goals.

Key Forward - We have been crying out for one of these for years.

Key Back - As mentioned above someone that can take the number one full forward each week.

Depending on how many points are left then you would look at other areas but I believe these are the three most important positions that need to be filled. I did have a midfielder in there previously ahead of a backman but I have now changed my opinion as I reckon we can cover the midfield more so with the players we have at the club than what we can compared to down back. Also adding a ruckman to the midfield group will help this area also.

Just to highlight how far at the back of the pack we are and how much of an uphill battle is in front of us,every wafl club has at least one team playing in the finals at some level, some clubs with 2 or 3 teams(colts, ressies or league)except one club....us!!

As far as im concerned what we need to do re-recuiting for 2016 is not to worry to much about the points available because what we need to do is review all our high point players and if there not performing at the high standard they should be,flick them and make room in the points to recruit a better player.
We have a number of list cloggers imo players that will not take this club anywhere.
The whole list needs looking at.

I think a full review of our league assistant coaches is also a must.

I sent Mr AFL a small list of recruits who would impact for you guys next year. Far better than previous guys targeted from EP. Confidence seems very low at the moment at PFC.
