Disappointing to lose Morton and Bateman. Good to see Eyres back-in to bolster our ruck stocks. I like the look of our forward line, in the sense that having Billings as a competitor at CHF should bring the flanks into play, and Arangio at FF might help straighten us up. We need Morton with his kicking boots on. Should be able to match the falcons in the midfield, it will all come down to whether we can convert forward movement into goals.

I like your avatar. I'm sure these were stickers, be bloody fantastic to get the other clubs as well. I think there is an East Freo bloke who has one as well.

agree
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Great first quarter. Terrible first 10 minutes of the second but they fought it out and looked good at half time. Didn't take advantage of the breeze early in the third and really faded badly from the 15 minute mark of that quarter.

What happened to Dean White?

I do think we are a faster side this year but a long way to go.

That is the wake up call the donkeys running the joint needed. Seriously everyone from the President to the CEO and football manager need to take a good look at themselves. You lot have no respect for us supporters who turn up every week and have to cop it up the Jackson. And you clearly have no respect for the competition you are in. Against quality opposition we are a mile off the pace and you lot who've been twiddling your thumbs and playing with yourselves got found out today. Pissed quality players off and failed to recruit to replace those we lost. Has anyone got any idea when in that joint? Like bunny's in the headlights. Frozen with no idea.

We've got some quality young kids being asked too much because we have too many B graders who aren't up to it.
Get on your bike.

Another disappointing day for the League team who started the game without Captain White, the two Mortons and Chance Bateman which didn’t help our chances.

The positives were the continued fine form of Tropiano, the return of Collard, and it looks like we have picked up a couple of serviceable players in McKenna and Latch.

I’m not a fan of Hug but must mention the fine job he did on nullifying Nelson for the first 3 quarters. Not sure why he was moved off him for the last.

On the other side we were out possessed and outclassed and out muscled for much of the game. No fewer than 10 of our players failed to reach double digit possessions, West Peth had one! The boys showed a deal of endeavour but basic skill errors cost us dearly. Once again our method for kicking in was full of peril bordering on diabolical.

The umps did us very few favours which when you are having a crack but getting flogged is very disheartening. Probably gifted WP four goals.

We got clobbered at the centre clearances. Eyres and Power just simply aren’t going to assist us winning games, end of story!! Eyres failed to take a solitary mark for the entire game whilst Power grabbed two and one of them was very early on when playing up forward. The forward line coach was clearly very disappointed in Powers efforts in the first quarter, really not doing basic acts for a player of his size. Keunen was a really good contributor for West Perth and a significant factor in their win.

Saw the last half of the ressies and quickly realised why I don’t do that very often. Was great to see the team chalk of a win. Was quite impressed with Garlett who looks to have far more skills than half the league team. Stack had a reasonable second half and should have kicked 5. For a bloke who should be pushing for State honours he just looks to be lacking a deal of confidence. Moore, Brown, Mercer, marlin and Gray did some nice things. Holland has only played a few league games but I thought he looked ok from memory, seems to have been banished to the ressies for life.
Borrett did some good things around the ground but also made a few glaring errors, still reckon he is a better option than Power. Ransted was also prominent but wasteful.

Peel had a good win today so we face another uphill battle on the 11th.

Thanks for a great post worm. the bit in black is what i agree with entirely.

I actually think Power and Eyers worth persisting with though. Eyers took a couple of very good marks l2 weeks ago against Swans before his week off for a wedding, and Power - though still a long way to go - has improved immensely . I hope you are right and Hug had a nullifying job because his stats are terrible.

I actually saw a glimmer of hope, but I will admit i am far too optimistic on occasion.

Apart from Tropiano, Wolfenden, Collard and perhaps Latch, that is nothing more than a reserves side out there today
You know the depth is shit when a spud like Billings is a walk up starter
Will not win a game
How do incompetents like Pendal, Atkins and Co justify this rubbish?
Don't worry Vince you can bid for the host club gig
That's your agenda
Pathetic

Swedg, I use to think Billings was a Hack as well - but he has turned it around and i think would get a start in every team in the comp.
