Unfortunately Paul Bevan heading back to Sydney. Still no coach. Hopefully an announcement end of next week but no decent names of note

This is just the start of it.
It wasnt that long ago on half time at the footy on the ABC that Bevan was on and saying he was looking forward to 2015 under a new coach.

Got sick of waiting or he has seen the short list of potential coaches and thought "im outta here!"

Once again and imo we have stuffed up.

We will end up with an average coach that the club will put the spin on "we are excited by this appointment"

In the meantime we will lose what little talented experienced blokes we do have.
Paul Bevan up till a few weeks ago gave every indication that he was playing on!

Thanks for the service Bevo. Sad to see him go but I'd just like to point out the other side to this that he is 30 years of age and is from over east. So the lure of family etc and going back home was always going to be a factor whether it was this year or next year.

Maybe a new coach could have seen him play on in 2015 but the other stuff does also play a part.

By my calculations that's Bevan, Risol and Kane gone so far. That's 27 points available for recruiting.

Hes only just turned 30 and a player of his ability could play on and be plenty of value for 3 more seasons and dont underestimate his onfield leadership,it wont be replaced.

I have absolutely no confidence in our recruiting department to recruit the players we need and also replace the likes of Bevan.
I'll Bet london to a brick we dont recruit a tall genuine KP forward....yet again!!

27 points that are available but we lose Bevan and Risol not to worried about Kane in my book that still puts us behind the eight ball.

Yes congrats White on the medal you deserved it.

On the points issue.
Nick Kane retiring is a blessing we can use his points.

The others....we have to be careful we dont lose all that experience in the one hit!

The trouble with Bevan,Risol and Moody going at once is you then have to replace like for like and then start recruiting to bolster the list and make it stronger.

So at the end of the day you recruit 3 to replace those players and havent yet recruited to strengthen the list where needed eg..KP forward, midfieders,Ruck etc..!
Bevan and Risol can't be replaced from within and i doubt Moody will either so theres 5 or 6 recruits already needed.

To make matters worse our colts and ressies are not strong either.
This is where our lack of depth is found out.

How many votes did Trops get boys?.......I wonder if the fella can cross credit any of his Lynn Medal votes to help work his way up the Butcher leader board?.......perhaps Dene isn't the winner after all?........surely you guys wouldn't go for the Duke?.........would you be interested in Malaxos?

Heard that Perth approached Quentin Lynch to play for the Demons next year. He said no and will be at West Perth in some capacity in 2015.
