Can't understand why Woewodin would go from a full time role in the AFL system to a part time WAFL role. Already has head coaching experience, surely his next move would be to an assistant at a bigger Melbourne club?

Yeah Lucifer but Perth doesnt have this baby to be's grandparents etc to support the parents when it cries all night and insomnia creeps in.........Guerra did the right thing, nothingworse than a sleep deprived wife.......Guerra would of been too busy trying to sort out PFC woes then the ones at home!.....

..as for Woewodin......more experience under his belt coaching wise now since his EF days......true he was a surprise Brownlow winner, but come end of the day he is one........was a hard working ball winner who made the most out of his footballing ability, something a few Perth players could take note of I reckon. Recruits waiting on the sidelines depending on who gets the job?...........surely all the decent ones are still involved in their respective clubs finals or waiting on the draft or post season culls to see which doors are opening and closing?

Agree DD hes been in the system for 10 years now so should be a leading contender!

Be interested to hear from a couple EF boys on what they thought of him though?

I take notice of how other coaches speak at the huddles from time to time and how they speak when interviewed during the breaks. I thought Woewodin spoke quite well. I wondered what he'd done, where he had been since his time at EF. I thought he spent a year or two at Fremantle? Might be wrong. Good to hear he's been an assistant at Brisbane for a few years. Maybe he could entice Mark Harvey to get involved in a part time role since they would have worked together?

Im not sure being a midfield coach at Brissie the past 4 years has improved his coaching skills a great deal??

His coaching record at East Freo was ok,not great but ok for a 5th,7th and 3rd(buddled out 1st semi) finishes.

Dont know on this one and by the sounds of it the applications are not great and the appointment is something they would want sooner rather than later so i suspect if hes applied or we have approached him then he will get the gig.
Gone are the days at the PFC for attracting top shelf coaching candidates.

To my knowledge he was never at Freo.

names aren't important Larry that's Perth concern.

we are in an environment where the average salary is 75k and living in WA is expensive needless to say it is just prudent to obtain financial security!

Ed

True Ed most of these guys are financially stable though and want pay commensurate with their abilities perceived or otherwise. More than my disability pension though that is for sure.

What are ya talking about.... we could pitch in and do a bit of babysitting....far out we could even turn one of the orange eskies behind the bar into a cot for the little fella....hed be good as gold! Your probably right maybe he wasnt up to the riggors of a part time coaching role of wafl club after all!

I spose if he does come across to perth he can give a few of the EF boys a call. A few more of troppies calibre would be nice!

Who are these three candidates Ed? Can you give us some information on them as to what experience they have had?

Suspect Townsend got his information from this site, his article says Woewodin has 'entered the frame' - not applied or is in discussion with PFC.
Nothing in article that hasn't been mentioned on here.
Vague, generic and no one quoted - poor journalism at best.

Agree with others that while SW has critics - a brownlow medalist, former wafl coach with afl assistant experience, would be great for PFC. Would seem better qualified applicants aren't exactly knocking the door down

I hope he is interested, as west article was only based on someone speculating on here.
