I'm a Swans fan through and through but I do keep a close eye on Perth having played a year of colts there back when Murray Couper was coach. My favourite coach of all time,if i remember rightly he was given the ass and he was successful.
As an outsider looking in i can not believe that the club hasn't moved to get rid of McMahon! I've heard him speak several times and not once to me did he sound convincing in his address to a point where I though the players had bought in to his message.
In complete contrast, when you hear Greg Harding speak he has a great knack of getting his players to believe.

I heard Mitch Morton on with Bob Maumill yesterday morning. To be fair I didn't hear all of it but when they asked him what's gone wrong his only response was injuries. I find that laughable. Let's not act like we are the only club in Australia that has an injured player. I would have loved to ring up with my opinions but wasn't in a position to do so. There's been plenty of games this year where we've been close to full strength and still stuffed. I found that to be disappointing

Ha what a joke that is Sacko. Every club has injuries but you just move on as best as you can. As you say we have had close to full teams out there and been in positions to win more often than not and have still been done over.

Hahahaha!!
Who are we missing...is it our quality tall key marking forward out hurt or perhaps a couple of our top shelf mids are injured or could it be our number 1 top grade ruckman has a hammy and has been out for the year???
Or maybe they are just the type of players i wished we had!

Excuses....thats what we have built this club on in the past 2 decades!

I'm not going to make excuses and I'm certainly not a McMahon fan.
However it's a bit simplistic to joke about the injuries. You can't tell me we wouldn't have been a lot stronger on saturday for instance if we had the following playing.
Hodge, Bateman, Sinclair, Leyendekkers, Busher, Cale Morton, Mitch Morton and Irons.

Of course McMahon must go, he has had 4 years and it's time for a change next year but we have had a bad run with injuries this year that is a fact.

I only heard excuses. He mentioned 2 or 3 times about Hodge being out. Obviously that hurts but let's be honest... It hasn't cost us 7 games. I would have loved to have phoned. I'm not scared to... I'm a regular to 6pr but was driving with the kids in the back so no chance. First question I would have asked him is why did he play the first 8 games in defence? First 2 games forward he kicks 2 bags of 5 but according to the coach he's best suited back. Just like Leon was. He only could have won 4-5 games playing forward but no- keep him in defence where he can't have an impact

Thats about the 3rd time I have heard Morton comment on perths issues, the first was about 2 months ago, each time I was less than convinced he had any heart in the team, he seemed to be talking like an outsider who just rocks up each week for a few bucks and a run...

anyway back to our race off for the Spoon...lol

One thing that has not occurred this year for whatever reason are the upsets! Last year Perth, South's, Subi and Peel all knocked off top a top 4 team at least once. This year appears to be a lot more predictable (just have a look at my WAFL footytips this year). I don't think I can recall any of the bottom 5 knocking off the top 4 this year (except when Perth were in the 4 of course :pinch: !

Cl v Subi a couple of weeks ago when Subi couldn't kick straight just like they couldn't against EF on the weekend.
