Only one thing matters here........performance. 4 years and what has been the result? How many finals have we played? How many times come round 15 have we even been in a position where we are pushing for a top 4? Damo has been through the cycle...hes had his chance....and after 4 years we will finish bottom!! Acceptable? Like others have said how many senior coaches in WAFL or SANFL etc get 4+ years with no result or chance of result?

TFAF although I believe the coach must go I have not been totally critical of him alone.......There are others who must have pins and needles in their arms from sitting on their hands for years and years! The administrators of this club need a big fuckin wake up call and a whole fucking truck load of roses to smell because they are just going through the motions and have overseen this Guinness book of records attempt at the worlds worst sporting club for too long now!

TFAF yes fans most of the time want the coaches head when results aren't going well. It's a part of the business.

However you have to look at the cold hard facts and that is that he just hasn't accomplished what most thought was possible, this year and over the course of his time at Perth. He coached the colts to a Grand Final and coached the league side in 2013 to their best ever season since 2004. All are things that he should be proud of.

But overall he and the people around in just haven't got the results over the last 4-5 years. Say what you like it's a results business and the cold hard facts are we haven't had the results.

We have played a good brand of football at times this season that has seen us being able to match it with every side in the competition. However lapses in concentration by players and even coaches with failing to make adjustments to the game plan have seen us loose games that we and get rolled when we were in positions to win. It's not just the coaches fault as players as well have to wear some responsibility for the results this season and also in years gone by.

For once it would be refreshing to hear an honest answer coming out of the club. We know we have a young team and that players need time to develop so stop referring to it after every loss and after every disappointing season. It's the same old broken promises and words at the start of each season and then all the clichés and excuses come the end of it. Your not fooling anyone by trying to paint over the cracks. Just tell it how it is and maybe supporters wouldn't give you so much stick.

Now back to the coach. They have come out and said he needs to win at least 10 games. We have won three from 3 from 12 so far this year and are currently on 6 game loosing streak with games against East Fremantle, Subiaco and Swan Districts to come over the next month. So we have to win 7 games from the remaining 8 matches. I just can't see it happening.

The lack of success over Damien's time is not all his fault though. We haven't done nothing in 37 years. The problems were there well before Damien came to the club and the same problems are continuing to occur. As you said TFAF we have sacked coaches before and it hasn't worked.

I heard recently that at the end of the season we are going to go out and recruit for the needs in the team. One can only hop that this does occur and is not just all smoke and mirrors and then come the start of next season the same old crap gets mentioned, 'we did the best with what we had' etc.... We desperately need a forward that can have the impact that Tim Geappean has had at Swans, Brad Smith did at Subiaco, Chad Jones did at Claremont and two genuine on ballers like a Luke Blackwell, Rory O'Brien or a Ross Young.

I know it is costly and is extremely hard to fill all these needs at once and doesn't just happen over night. But why is it most other clubs able to find diamonds in the rough and players that Perth sign don't seem to live up to expectations and are able to have the same out put that other players have at other clubs. Obviously I am not talking about the likes of Paul Bevan and Ross Young of recent years.

Another thing that concerns me is how many decent young players come through our system that don't seem to go on with it and become 100 game players at our club. Why don't they come on????????????????????? Why is it that other clubs are able to develop their players. How many 100 game players have Perth had over the last 15 years compared to other clubs?

Sorry for the rant but I'm just getting sick of the same crap year in year out. Or should that be decade in and decade out

Spot on falcon strke, ewe are a joke. The suits have invested so much into their golden child and backed him to the hilt and they can't admit they got it horribly wong. McMahon is in his seventh year as a coach at this club and produced nothng at league leve. Becuse he coached the colts to one grand final where they got pantsed, they tought he was a genius. Make no mistake, we are a biger joke than Peel.

TFAF your continuous comparson with the likes of Bomber Thompson at Geelong, Ratten at Carlton and Hardick at Richmond is embrrassing. Give it away, McMahon is not a league coaches bootlace.

Sorry DD, Closer to home - Swan District fans wanted Harding gone midway through last year.

1 or 2 stooges called turtle & smith who were bagging Harding is not all SD supporters buddy ..get your facts right myself, Swandog, swan42, mikeh, DW et al were all behind our coach!

Great post AFL.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Nice post Mr AFL, but please don't give this fraud credit he does not deserve. He actually inherited a quality colts squad when he white anted the previous colts coach with the help of his mate Eastaugh. Some might not like the previous colts coach but he and his team did all the ground work in putting that squad together. The same bloke was involved with the Great Man, Mr Johnson coming down to the club. Mr Johnson used to get up Damo's nose because he knew more about football than this imposter, so you can guess what happened next!!! This bloke could not spot a footballer if he was looking at one let alone coach a football team.

What ever happened to Kerwin Stewart, Jack Clarke Medalist a few years back. Is he injured or did he pull the pin. Or could it have been other peoples parents know how to crawl with long arms and short pockets. Have a look at the magoos, some of those spuds have been in that squad with none or limited league time for how many Fukien years ? are they going to ever be up to it.

Speaking of colts players coming through, when are we going to see someone over 6ft progress through to league ranks? All we ever seem to see progress through to league is midgets.

I'm hoping to see Sam Garstone get a game towards the end of the year.

What will be the harm in giving him 4-5 games of league football to expose him at this level. It might just bring forward his development by 6-10 months.

Same goes for Brent Edmonds, Scott Doncon, Daniel Arangio, Dylan Biggs, Jordan Busher, Matt Hunt, Joel Kalajzic, Ben Power and Blake Borrett.

The positives that could be gained far out way the negatives of playing these kids.

To all you nice Perth chaps whom want to see a change of the league coach, there is only one sure way to achieve such an aim; remove the board at an annual general meeting.
