Who was the coach who Perc famously described as a "football scientist" when he decided to draw stumps at Lathlain and move up to Bassendean???? He'd been busting his hump to help out the youngsters - including a bum-fluff faced Haydn Busher - and copped nothing but crap for it.

His analysis of the Demon's woes are on the money.

When this guy speaks, everyone interested in WA footy should listen.

Crap off who Super Dude? Other coaches, players? If so that shows a complete lack of respect towards one of the greats and one of the smartest footy people, even at 81 that's going around today.

I think you'll find that reference is to Percy's time as ruck coach of the Perth colts team that McMahon coached. Some players didn't like the way he spoke to them, too harsh, too many realisms for some of the precious souls.

Used to love speaking to him at colts games. His understanding of football strategies is unprecedented but in my opinion was largely ignored during his time at Lathlain. He used to spend a fair bit of time with young Busher in that team and I'm sure Percy's input greatly shaped and improved his game at a time when he played forward, back anywhere that needed fixing in that colts team.

Percy was a great player in his time. I remember seeing him play at EF and he was a regular State Representative. I always enjoyed listening to him when he was a regular commentator. Always spoke a lot of sense.
A great football brain and it is a shame that he was not always appreciated during his time at PFC and that the club is probably the loser in all that.

The big losers, as alluded to by Dazzler, have been the fairy princesses who did not like the lessons in reality of life and football that he gave.

His comments re Bryan Cousins were most interesting and hopefully have fallen on the ears of the decision makers within the club.

The host's suggestion of Steven Armstrong is way off the mark IMHO.
No thank you.

Bryan Cousins would be good in the Director's role, but maybe his trotting commitments would not allow that.

Has been heavily involved at GP.

Yes I'd like to see Steven Armstrong back and involved at the club in some form but not as senior coach. Maybe assistant or a line coach.

If they were able to go and get a couple of people like Bryan Cousins and have them involved on the board and have more involvement within the club then I can see this as being a good thing.

I like the suggestion of someone as a coaching director that yes is a director but is heavily involved in overseeing the coaches and match selection. To add to this I would even consider looking at a junior coaching director. Someone that does the exact same thing as the above but has an input into the development programs and the transition into colts football.

All these things come down to money but it's good that they are at least being spoken about and are all things to consider.
