I reckon our midfield has been weakened by the loss of Ali Smith, I hope the club gets it sorted and fits him in, if you need to let someone like Kane go to fit him in do it.

Looks like it was the Hampden Football League Fairest & best he won in 2012, looks like 4 players shared it.

Yes perhaps a couple of these colts players may get their chance but I think the team to play Claremont on the opening day will be an experienced outfit. Doncon looks like a ready made league player down the track but I'm sure he will play some reserves footy first.

McMahon said on 6PR this arvo that Hunt was an in. He also said that Tedesco was not playing. He didn't mention Smith as an out so fingers crossed.

Sorry fellas but another long season ahead. No big bodies again will show us up in no time. I can't believe we haven't recruited any decent talls. The Morton's I think will be very good for us but a lack of tall forwards and class in the mid field will keep is down the bottom I'm afraid

Yep have to agree with you Sacko.
Our midfield is also an area of concern,we will struggle there big time imo.

The only 2 KP's likelys with experience Busher(has he done a full pre-season/injury pronne??) and Houghton who should be delivering the goods by now are both ify to say the least.
Busher for mine has to be at CHB and Houghton at CHF unless we cann unearth a tall colt that steps up straight away.

I think because of our lack of class accross the ground we have to play Bevan in the midfield,Mitch Morton as a roaming Forward and the other 2 Mortons on half back(to replace Tedesco and Sketcher).

But yeah i think we are in for another long year.

A bit of a contradiction there 30Plus. You say how weak our midfield is and then you want 2 of the Mortons playing in defence. Jarryd played some useful games last season on a wing and I'm sure Cale could be used in midfield rotations.

I agree about Busher and Houghton. They both need to stand up and yes, perhaps Busher is better suited to CHB. If they can both remain injury free then our lack of talls may not be as big a problem as it seems.

I was impressed with Houghton's finish to the season last year.
Funnily enough that was in the backline.
May be he can finally stand up.

I agree with you Cesspit, the Mortons will add depth to midfield rotations.
Although Cale played mostly down back for EP last year.
Mitch, Stack & Bevan could pose problems for opposition all capable of kicking 40-50 goals, IMHO.
All in the delivery I would have thought.

Not a contradiction at all.
I reckon we have huge holes accross every line,our lack of class and player losses does make it a juggling act to make the lines stronger.

Our defence looks bloody weak without Tedesco and Sketcher there.
We need some capable half back flankers with run to turn defence into attack,those 2 (Mortons) have the experience to do that.
At a pinch maybe Jarryd and Cale can have a run in the midfield,not so sure that they are genuine midfielders.
Most of and probably there best footy has been played off the half back flanks.

Houghton is yet to prove himself at league level and has been around long enough now to become a regular good performer,still has huge ?? over his head imo.
Bushers fitness is the problem,can he stand up for 20 games??
