I think that we have to look a long way further than your list Mr AFL.
In the last few years we have been content to clog the transition paths from Colts to Ressies and onto League with the result that a lot of promising players are lost to amateurs or the country.
I believe that the immediate future of our club is in the hands of the brave who are prepared make the decision to move players up and give them the opportunity to show their worth in the Ressies and indeed the League.
I would see players such as Edmonds, Garstone, Moreno, Cox, Smith, Busher, Biggs, amongst others, flow thru the ranks right from the start of the new season.
There are 10 or 12 ressies players who have been around for several years and, IMO, who do not have the ability to graduate to regular league spots. It is time to part ways with some of these players and open up those transition paths to the kids coming up.
This should be happening each season. As they say.. "use them or lose them."

Johnston had an injury plagued year TFAF and never properly got going IMO. I think if he can have an injury free preseason then we might see some more consistent performances from him in 2014.

Out of curiosity what hasn't impressed you about him TFAF?

One player that comes to mind is Mark Deaves. Great bloke and clubman and had a very good year in the 2's but can't seem to find that same consistency playing League.

And that young list you mentioned there I am pretty sure all are two old for colts now and I would expect them to be playing reserves in 2014 and if form warrants it then possibly some league action as well.

I am looking forward to seeing Moreno developing.

He is a kid that has to be given opportunities, we cannot afford to bring talls through and not develop them.

According to the list he is 193cm and he had some large disposal stats so he can play.

Got just the one opportunity in reserves in round 20.

We need a key forward Alex, so give it your best shot.

Moreno will be 20 in July. Listed at 193 cm and 84 kg. That's was obviously at the start of this year so hopefully over the preseason has hit the gym and put on a couple of KG's. Most impressive thing his he took 127 marks for the year.

The other potential tall forward is Sam Garstone. Was being talked about as a smokey in the lead up to this years draft period.

Edmonds looks a beauty as well. Slightly framed but I watched 6-7 colts games this year and he looked one for the future.

Something that might please some people on here is that Joel Houghton has apparently added 6-7 Kg's in the off season.
