Another disappointing performance yesterday although I went to the game expecting lose by a lot more.

Another wasted season with the consenus of opinion mostly that we should have made the four in our last 2 seasons, to which I agree.

Some good news out of yesterday:
  • Paul Bevan has committed to next season (although not yet signed).
  • And suggestion from a source with some influence that the feeling amongst decision makers has moved towards the coaching job being advertised.
  • For those Darren Harris advocates, maybe some hope that he is interested.

  • The next few weeks will be interesting to see what develops.

    Important time.

Good news on Bevan verbally committing to the club.

It has been an improvement this season, no doubt about it. However we put ourselves in a really good position to play finals for the first time in a long time and for majority of the season we stayed inside the top four. We let ourselves down in the second half of the season and those close losses early on have come back to haunt us.

Overall I would rate the season a B-. Definitely need a key forward that can kick 50 plus. If an A grade ruckmen of the calibre of Andrew Ruck, Mark Seaby or a Chris Keunen becomes available then I would go after them. Midfield wise I think we are ok with the like of Hug, Manuel, Boyle and Chrimes to hopefully push and play more league football next season.

This season was a good starting block. Have won 9 games, potentially could win 10. Got games into young players like Sinclair, Sketcher, Leyendekkers and Eyres and if they can have a big preseason will be better for it in 2014. I would like to see what this side could potentially do if we have a key forward, another ruckman and maybe an A grade midfielder.

no different to SF, EF, Subi and SD Mr AFL......every club will need these sort next year and probably more.......if all these clubs get these guys then potentially they could go far too......interesting preseason coming up, I for one feel this is EF first pre season in years where other players will feel more likely to come to EF with all their AFL listed boys elsewhere......always felt EF missed out on some decent recruits because they had 5 - 7 guys from WCE or Freo get first dibs most week...

Once again the only way PFC are gonna attract the sort of guys you are craving if you change your coach.......or the likes of Bevan or Bateman can use their AFL links to attract guys........gonna be a bit of a war zone come end of the draft/rookie period.....should be some interesting times I reckon

I think your wrap is spot on AFL.

I unlike most would like to see coach stay on.

3 Years is nothing. Remember Bomber Thompson nearly got the boot at Geelong before his two flags there.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

What a waste of three years, not including the time this fraud was the colts coach. Had quality players come and go and basically still has know idea about football in its simplest form. How this bloke ever got to coach at WAFL level is staggering in itself. I would compare his appointment with that of Drum at Fremantle, both bloke are just as useless as each other and should never have had the opportunities they had.

Are these the same decision makers that appointed this bloke and gave him a extension on the sly. If they are they should vacate their position as they are a friggin disgrace to the Perth football club.

What happen to the change of culture was that just a 1 year plan and now the demons will rollout some different tripe.

Agree. Give him another two year contract to see if his style can eventually get the club a flag.

You are probably right jebus, so close this year even given a B- by some when I would have given a F.
Some times the grass is greener on the other side of the fence till you get there, just ask Elari and Rodgers! The club decision maker should take this into consideration when they make another wise decision! :woohoo:

Liking the coach to stay on isn't a surprise coming from you.

3 years, no finals appearance, and some want a contract renewal.
Not for mine, time to sound out Harris.
The list is not too bad in my opinion, even allowing for the probable losses of
Mcinness and Tunbridge to the filth formerly known as EP
Be active in the trade period to replace them
I'm sure if Harro came on board, recruits would follow
