After watching the game on the weekend it's simply amazing the impact Johnson and smith have on that team. To put it frank they are simply awesome. From a Perth point if view the talk has been having a real crack at Smith. That's fine. But our forward line is pretty good to fair. I think our mids have dropped of dramatically making it tougher for the forwards to have an impact. Maybe with Cox signing a one year deal that leaves Lycett and Sinclair to play the majority of the year at EP Johnson might be the bloke to go after. He just monstered us on Saturday. Fact is if those 2 remain at EP then they will be unbeatable. In my book they are the 2 most important players in the comp.

I'd have serious think about Reimers situation. He was worth the punt but if his output is the same next year it won't be worth the money. Did not win us 1 game and lets be honest we were expecting him to kick at least 2 bags. Unfortunately Risol dropped off too. Fantastic first half to the season but he is definitely worth hanging onto.

Not sure how much the club wants to spend on players next season when it comes to salary cap and points but at least we do have a decent amount of cash in the bank if we want to splurge again

I'd like a ruckman, also Miller is due to retire we lose a couple to the host club deal as well...

After a dozen or so posts after my initial Topic all were about other subjects,no wonder i get fu$king frustrated with this site its not hard to lose a subject amongst the other crap other posters want to put in forums non related to the subject,i ask for how Perth will go and i get crap about how strong or weak Peel are going to be!!Not interested.

Anyway Sacko i agree Johnson and Smith are a cut above any tall we have and if we want to compete with the big boys in 2014 this has to be addressed by our club,no doubt about that.
I have a feeling our current coach doesnt put a huge emphasis on talls,i dont think he rates them at all in his game plan!
2 KPP's at both ends of the ground plus a ruckman that can turn a game through "big man dominance".

We have discused Reimers and im of the belief we need to give him another year,a full pre-season and then judge him at the end of 2014.

We quite often got smashed in the midfield and this is another area that needs urgent attention.

Fitness???we got over-run in many second halves,we dropped right off.
Another area that needs to be looked at,maybe a new coach can bring in a new regime!

Agree our second halves have been comical at best. Amazing how we drop off in a game. Fair call on Reimers he did start late but it's imperative he produces more next year.

I also have a feeling we'll probably lose a few blokes as well. Ali Smith for example. I have no idea why he played dags or any of the rumours going around but either way things don't seem to be too good there.

On another note I hate to bag a bloke but if Michael Florio isn't the softest footballer to ever play the game then ill walk to China. Did his jumper even get dirty on Saturday? Sully also dropped off as the season went on. I'd sign Chance again for another year of he's up to it. Love how he goes about it

It’s disappointing to see the season fading out like this when it promised so much for so long. Whilst normally the season is over for Perth supporters by round 6 it's still really frustrating not to get to finals for a team that proved it was capable of mixing it with all teams bar probably WP over the season.

Personally I don’t think there is anything wrong with the way the team tries to play. I enjoy watching them move the ball quickly through the corridor. I reckon the problem has been on match day, being able to respond to counter opposition plays and shifts in momentum in games. I thought that was why these more experienced assistants were brought in to provide some tactical muscle in the coaching box on match day. If it was it hasn’t worked. Yellow football is just a disaster and I’d venture to guess we’d lead the league in goals conceded in the last five minutes of quarters. And too often its try and play our way regardless of whats happening on the scoreboard or the momentum of the game.

I reckon the minute Daniel Murray got shown the door things started to go wrong because he was a dominant big man in early games, capable of competing with benchmark rucks like Johnson and Seaby. Whether it was right or wrong is a different matter but his departure really hurt the team.

And as good as Bevan and Stack have been up forward the disappointment has been the lack of a dominant big man capable of contested marks inside 50. McInnes has been poor in a lot of games and Busher unable to get on the park often enough. If you are going to play this kick forward and kick long game plan you have to have targets capable of grabbing the ball and McInnes just drops way too many he should take. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles really back McGovern to be their next key forward.

Big test for the club will be getting their hands on some players who can keep Perth competitive because every other club will improve next season so we can’t stand still like we’ve done so often in the past after a ‘good’ season.

Watching EP on Saturday, gee you’d love to think you could convince Johnson, Smith or Clutterbuck over to Lathlain next season. Or Brad Holmes or Kristian Thornton from Peel. And I’d be on to Jarryd Morton to get his brother Mitch to the Demons next season.

I like the idea of Mitch to Perth Dazzler. Jarryd has been a real success. I really liked his game on Saturday. And Mitch be be very handy also

I will state again EP have parcelled up its key players on great deals. One of the top guys may travel next year. West Perth have snared a couple that I know of. What seems to be overlooked in this alignment is the resources and opportunities available to keep the likes of Johnson and Smith.

If some of those key players are "parcelled up" as you reckon R2019 why then are they shopping themselves around to a few clubs I ask???
