We need to win 3 of our last 4 and they are all form teams so I can see us beating South only at best and finish 6th. I think a golden opportunity this season will turn out to be wasted

Thats a good summary of whats happened.
7 of our 9 wins have been against 7th,8th and 9th.

Of the sides above us we have only chalked up a total of 1 win.
We needed points against the other teams vying for top 4 spots, those teams in and just out of the top 4 and we have failed.

You blokes are a good chance in this game, you have been able to answer the critics thus far and Im a little concerned about this game. We need to step up here as we have a tough 3 weeks and most pundits are lacking any respect for us as per usual, I keep hearing we are a chance to drop the the last 4 games, 1 of which we have already won !!!

Agree leedy.. With our injuries and what Perth are playing for they will certainly bust their guts. Moora was a good for them the last time they played there and buried Swans..
I am not confident

Slight exaggeration Cardy as 27 points is hardly being "buried" ..and one Fraser Gehrig (dropped by the budgies) kicking a lazy 7 or 8 goals for Perth proved the difference!

BH, would have been 32 points had Leon slotted it from fifty after his run from the back pocket.

Don't agree Leedy. You say we have answered our critics this year. Again I say we've had a pretty good year but as I said we haven't won the big games. Got close in most of them but haven't won them and this is another big 1. I hope we win more than anything but if West Perth are paying somewhere around $1.70 then it's a good opportunity to make some quick cash

I agree with your view Sacko
Perth have done much better this year, surprised a few Pundits and commentators to the game and delighted their own followers - but as yet have not been able to climb over the more favoured finals teams.
Its great to see Perth step up to the mark when challenged and for some to tout them as possible winners for this day -
But I for one do not believe our injuries are reason to feel uncomfortable - we have almost had the same number of players return of injury as those we have now lost
In the last weeks (take out our ghastly SF game)WP have proven themselves worthy of the spot we hold
I actually fear the upcoming bye for WP more than this game against you guys in Moora
Following up the incoming Bye with a game against the 'Black Ducks' is a recipe for potential disaster - we do not fair well after Byes.....

That's aside- Good luck to Perth this week! I look forward to a great day with both sides contesting hard for the ball and the points and thankfully less of the influence of AFL products trying to impress their own masters and not the jumper they are wearing on the day :silly:

Yep the stats don't lie but they don't tell the whole picture either.

Perth have been competitive against the top teams this season with probably only the WP game where they were blown off the park and the disaster at Bassendean what you would call non-competitive bad losses.

You could argue that that early loss to EF and the loss to C were unlucky, although we were ahead in both with minutes to go. But you can't argue that anything other than tactical incompetence cost them against Swans at home and last weekend against EF. If the boys don't produce something herculian and win 3 of the last 4 then you can trace not making the finals to those two losses where the game was lost in the coach's box.

I really hope the new coach next year comes with the match day acumen required at WAFL level.

Do you know something there Dazzler??(stating "new coach"!).

The thing about close games, near misses and being unlucky is they count for nothing going into the next football season!

I agree that a couple of games cost us from the coaches box,the Swans game in particular.

Even if we beat WP theres no way we will beat EP away and Claremont at home,Claremont love playing at Lathlain,i would feel more comfortable if it was on there dung hill where for some odd reason we generally play ok.
