DD has Perth ever tried to recruit players from Claremonts Colts and Ressies.Their must be a number of good footballers. That dont make it to the Tigers league side.

Yes definitely. A previous colts midfield coach once told me the joke amongst the coaches was that the only way to a good colts squad for PFC was to wait outside the gates of Claremont oval for the players they cut.

EF is another target for that too (Quartermaine, McPartland etc)

Perths issue summed up in a single post, more interested in what’s happening at other clubs and  not what’s happening in their own areas.

Perth has a significant number of non-Perth district players on their colts and senior list - They all go there for opportunity and then leave for success

It's pretty obvious that it would be far easier to service a big town like Albany where you can run clinics etc in the same place and catch up with all clubs on the same visit than  smaller towns that are several kilometres apart..
Perths county area is an hour to 2? hours from PfC. How many clinics can PFC run in the same time it takes 4.5 hours to drive to Albany? …lets not even discuss Broome etc

Your TDO could be home for dinner after doing a coaching clinic and could run 4+ clinics for the time it takes for C, SD EP or EF to run 1 clinic in their country zones

Perth couldn’t organise a root in a brothel if it was operating out of its changeroom

This seems to be going in circles as usual. No chance of big zone changes. Is it really that bad selling your arse to wc to get ahead in this day and age. I would have welcomed it when we were fucked tbh. I thought you were leaning that way too a while back DD?

Geezus TT I didn’t realise we had it so good and it was a massive 4 or 5 hour trip for you geniuses to run football clinics down in Albany. It’s disgusting, I think the WAFC should implement some sensible equalisation measures and swap country zones with us so you can fill your tank up on GTE Ascot for about 40 cents less per litre and unearth that hidden talent you keep telling us we aren’t working.

The word was “some sort of arrangement” DG on GF day a few years ago when we won the reserves flag and I think your team knocked off Souths. Yes I was all for it for a few years to make a few bucks, cash in and get out. But not now we’ve moved on , got some decent recruits, just need to keep them on the park and add a few more. Could not have asked for two better appointments to the coaching and fm roles.

Club just about has everything in place for a beautiful new facility. Only missing piece is access to decent zones like a lot of other clubs enjoy otherwise we rely too heavily on recruiting. I’m as sick of talking about it as you are reading it but the problem isn’t going away until it is addressed.

If you can’t find talent an hour away in your own zone you’ve got no chance finding it in Albany or Bunbury or Gero or anywhere else.

It would take a WP player who works in the CBD longer to get to training in peak hour at Joondalup than it does for PFC to go to your country zone.
