You are harsh in your assessment of Daniel Hill DF. What we lack is pure speed and flare. Hill has that in spades but Germo is playing him off half back. Played on ex Docker academy pick Joel Western who got 14 touches Hill got 10. Id like to see Germo give Daniel bit of licence to be creative. Maybe on a wing or half forward or small forward.

But some bright prospects are emerging from our 2023 colts grand final side. Cachard today was outstanding, Scoble has been outstanding considering his age and light frame and the likes of Watson and Noah Murray are emerging along with 2022 colts Fairbank and Preston-Coates. Hill is from that batch and was told he was a midfielder and made the state U/16s state team. 

Daniel is a good kid and needs to be encouraged. Livingstone isn't having a big impact in the WCER so might be one we get back in a couple of years. Hope Trevor and co are keeping tabs on Quinton Narkle and Zac Fisher.

I suggested last week that the only place I would have Hill is as a small forward.
You can't have one hand in soft players playing in defence.
He was awful today under pressure.

I liked the look of Fairbank, I thought he was unlucky to get dropped after the WCER game.
And what has happened to Poole?
I thought he showed promise too.

I thought I explained that a couple of months ago. Concussion. Has had a history of them but still around the club so maybe might come back at some stage.

I went to school with Jack Poole's dad (a great fella and very good cricketer in his day), so I hope that Jack can overcome his bouts of concussion and resume his promising career with the Demons.

Why is that so amusing to you? I've spoken to Jack himself and Trevor. Obviously he has been told not to play, whether that's for the time being or permanently remains to be seen. I think he wants to play again. Not really very amusing that's for sure.
