Add Haywood and Kemp to that bench.
I agree Fairbank didn't look out of place.
I have liked the look of some of the debutantes this year.
That may be where the future lays.
It's a one grab game and we don't.
Not happy with the effort today,

Even at full strength we all thought we would struggle with small forwards. Kemp and Hayward are not league standard. Maybe try Hine-Barton or Hill

Oh dear. Back on the bottom.
from what I saw, the usuals were good - Byrne, Thompson, Cooley, etc. all the rest seemed to be okay in patches but too many went missing for too long throughout. I am enjoying the development of Edwards in the ruck and around the ground. I agree that Fairbank looked good, so too Stubbs in the last. Should have put the game to bed many times but just seemed to lose momentum too easily throughout. Credit where it’s due, though. Eagles have certainly improved and are obviously a far more competitive unit than they’ve been for a long time.

With due respect, I thought Schenslog did some good things.
But having said that is he lacking a bit of match fitness?
He seems to amongst the good stuff make some bad errors in judgement, fumbling and overrunning the ball.
And he looks like he is battling with pace.
As I said with all due respect as I regard him, as a talent.
Some of his decisions were very good, and he shows poise at times.
I just perceive he is battling a bit.
I may be wrong.

Eagles reserves are more than capable and we have to remember that. Add a bit of class like Tyler Brockman and Jai Culley and the first gamer No 1 pick in the msd Hutchinson up forward and it gave them the impetus to get over the line.

I'm disappointed but not devastated, we've been hit with a football sledgehammer losing our big name recruits and the delayed start then pre season injuries to Avery and Schlensog it hasn't panned out well for us but on the positive side we've seen the emergence of Scoble, Cachard and Fairbank today. Chaplin has been a revelation.

Lessons need to be observed and learned. We can't have half fit half committed players not rocking up in pre season.
Get on your bike.

Agree completely with your analysis on Schenslog. Stubbs and Q Train frustrating players for me. Hopefully a fit and focused Clark will help them. Similarly Cachard and Kemp will be helped with the return of Simpson.

Still plenty of passion with the Dees supporters
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Fun fact. Now this round is done and dusted, Perth are just one game out of the top 5.

Hopefully get Clarke back and Simpson for Peel in a couple of weeks. Ewing would be nice to possibly free up Schlensog to pinch hit up forward or in the ruck if needed, but he's missed the last 12 months so will probably spend 3-4 weeks in the reserves.

I'd rather see Scoble back than bring in Ewing. But we need to avoid being too top heavy in wet conditions. I don't know that we could play Scoble, Sog, Edwards, Chaplin, Clarke, Johnston and Q on a wet day. Then again, we brought Hayward in most likely with an eye on the forecast in Northam and he picked 5 touches. Kemp managed only 8, J Clark 9 and Cahcard 6. Oddly, we still had 34 more disposals overall than WCER. But as always, it is hard to see where the replacements come from. Hine-Baston and Newick have struggled at league level. Hill's progress seems to have stalled, while Gray is obviously completely out of favour.

My apologies to Schenslog.
Just watched the replay.
Whilst he had 2 or 3 clangers (he's not the only one) his calmness and experience was very good.
He has a very good footy brain.
he will obviously get better with further games.
