Good news Sam Simpson back.
But of course, Byrne suspended.
I still fancy this game.
Claremont will fancy themselves, but they are not the team they used to be.
Their forward line not functioning so I think our backs can do the job.
Sing and John back in the ressies.

What really fucken pisses me off is the club is too slack to update the injury list on a weekly basis. For instance Avery still showing as 12 weeks, was added a day after I emailed the WAFC on the 11th of April. Clarke was added after the Swans game along with Simpson. Clarke was and still is listed as 3-4 weeks. Unless he's had a setback Clarke should have been available this week so I assume he'll be available next week against EF.

Newick is young enough to bounce back, but he had to be dropped after collecting 3 disposals in a full game as a starting mid. Cachard has to be under pressure as well, with 4 disposals last week. It is pretty grim when two of your midfield group manage a combined 7 touches. However, I don't know what Philip has done to earn a league spot. His stats still look very modest, and he still strikes me as a bit soft. Remarkably, Claremont and Perth have identical for and against tallies - 311 points for and 400 against. But as has been mentioned before, an average of 60 points a game won't get the job done very often.

Looks like Simpson is not playing after all. Seriously though, when is this club going to learn to score goals?
Last week colts scored 4. This week 3, all in the last quarter. League scored 4 last week in fine weather. And it looks like the reserves have 2 since quarter time late in the game. Last week, the three teams scored a total of 15 goals. That’s 5 per game and less than 1.2 per quarter over 12 quarters of footy. You just can’t win games with numbers like this.

Oh dear. After a fair start to the season it appears that normal expectations have arrived.

Plus reserves and colts flogged two weeks in a row. As I suspected last years colts we produce once every 10 or 12 years then normal transmission resumes. I lost count how many Claremont players were named in the U/18 squad, only 2 from Perth.

Without at least 3 or 4 gun recruits on the park we are hopeless.

That familiar pall of despair has settled again over Lathlain. Schlensog was good, and a few mids did ok. Q missed some shots that should be bread and butter for a key forward, but at least he was providing a target. Gray should keep his spot. One worry for me is that a number of players really haven't come along since 22-23. Can you really say that Philip, Johnston, Brogan-Henry, Hill, J Clark, are any better now than they were when they broke into the league team?

There doesn't seem to be anyone to bring up from the reserves. Wills got good stats, but there's no point bringing him in when he's not ready, given we are destined for another second last placing. Let him and Newick develop in the twos. Shannon got a lot of the ball, but I think he is one of those guys who can't make the step to league. Hopefully, after the bye we will get Simpson, Byrne and A Clarke back and maybe avoid a 10 goal plus defeat v Peel.
