Houghton very good in the Ressies yesterday. lots of yap (something I rate highly), reading of the play, he is not one of these back men who watch their opponent, lots of speed particularly closing speed, and though I would like to see him with 5 kg extra he is not soft. I saw 2 and a half quarters of the ressies.

Of the newish players to the team yesterday, Deaves, Hug, Collard, Mather, and Hunt. Collard was the standout, second was Mather.

Bush, Boyle, Stack Jacobs, Leyendeckers and Donovan to come back in. Note I have not mentioned Johnson.

I hate singling players out but the team yesterday would be improved by:

Bush for Deaves.
Boyle for Hug.
Stack for Hunt.
Houghton for Ransted.
Leyendeckers when we are playing against a team with lots of height.

Mather (it is Michael isn't it - hope i am not getting Hunt and Mather mixed up) best of the new three on ballers for mine.

Donovan and Jacobs next ones in line. Maybe even Jacobs for a certain start, can not remember him doing much wrong. I think they are pushing Hug - who is good but 26 years olds are better footballers than 20 year olds.

Hug, Hunt, Ransted, Deaves, Chrimes, Manuel and Richardson (yes I do realise he has been injured {shoulder even})and Johnson to be next liners.

Captain great yesterday, Bateman best game for us, White again hard at it, Risol has droped off a little but would rather it now than during the finals. Kane good, Eyers, good, Tunbridge and McInnes hitting their straps, Moody obviously good, Matty T excellent mark but would like to see him get the ball on quicker.

Left a few out but havn't the budget in front of me and it is getting late.

A little more talk about the players and less about the posters on the sight would be nice.

Night all.

Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Nick Kane, Julian Jacobs and Jason Currie all lost grandparents during the week. This is obviously a very emotional time for them and their families.

You would have to think that this is the reason behind Julian playing reserves after not playing the week before against EP.

You would think after 30 possessions, 6 marks, 6 tackles, 6 inside 50's and 1.1 goals he'd be back in the team this week.

Thanks for the info Mr AFL.

I was wondering why Julian played ressies.

I think he only missed a week didn't he?

What I saw of the second half of the ressies he would come back this week I would think.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

Julian hasn't played league football for Perth since the Swan Districts game. He's currently sitting on 48 games so hopefully can find his way back into the team over the coming weeks and can reach his milestone.

Couldn't get to game or watch live but watching now on iView.

Brett Hodge - I love the guy, heart as big as Phar Lap!!

And Brendon Jones still as big a wanker as ever!!!

I assume you mean Johnno, as I noticed he has been banned. To be honest I am not sure what he did to get banned but I really enjoy the banter on the Perth thread.

what a pathetic comment......really how long has Jones been at Peel now?.....no matter the circumstances you really have to get rid of that chip on your shoulder Baseline, it must be awwwwwfully heavy....

interesting the oz footy powers to be.... saw fit to delete some comments, yet they kept that one in.....next time I'll get the oz footy mods to explain to my 5 yr old nephew what Baseline meant about Brendan Jones.....if your gonna play the big men and delete posts, ban posters, than at least be consistent and be fair across the board.....

I know we have to give the Perth boys a few allowances for getting all giddy with experiencing some success......but don't forget this is a site for all readers not just for those fella's unwilling to let go of a grudge.....how many years ago did Jones leave again?.....Baseline EMBRACE what you preach mate.....and Oz Footy step up to the mark and be consistent with your moderation......

You would have to have rocks in your head to drop Kieran Hug after that effort on Saturday. 9 tackles and great work by him as a defensive midfielder. Probably couldn't see it on the TV broadcast but his defensive and blocking work at the stoppages in that third quarter was one of the reasons Perth kicked away in that quarter.
