It was great that we fought back and won the game, but it was 9 v 10 from last year and going on the standard of the game it could have been 9 v 10 again this year.
I agree DD about Davis, he continues to cough up the ball in dangerous areas and at crucial times.
Satan, I’m sure it was Creasy who got reported. Why did we get a relayed free kick after the incident if it was Ainsworth who was the aggressor. The journalist (?) MCardle, must have only seen the umpire show the blue card to Ainsworth and thought he was the one reported. Poor journalism if that’s the case.

Cess if you look at all the games I don't know if they reached any great heights looking at the scorelines. It was possibly as strong a line-up as WC will field in the WAFL this year. I rate that win highly and I don't think the Eagles will be as bad as some of us have predicted. They will win plenty of games with that line-up.

One of those 2 sides may run 9 or 10.
But it won't be the DEES.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!

DD, would of thought with Allen, Gaff and Sheed to come back over the next month, and Nic Nat obviously later on.....plus others like Joyce and Trew to return, that WCER  side will only get stronger as the weeks go by. Compared to Peels support crew, a lot of those WCER support guys, wouldn't play league for any other WAFL clubs TBH....how many of those ex Perth guys would of played for Perth's league side yesterday? Not sure your assessment that will be one of WCER stronger lineups this year is actually on the money TBH.

Freez, there were 6 ex Perth players in the WCER team yesterday. Levien, Mercer, McCarthy, Hansen, Henderson and Burke. Collectively they had virtually no impact on the game. Henderson tried hard but raffle the others. I suspect that not all 6 will be selected at any one time in future games.
None of them would have played for Perth yesterday.

I'm inclined to agree Freezin, but to come from behind after being so far down a couple of times will do me just fine!

First game turn overs and fumbles excluded, there was a few things I took out of this game:
1. Davis seriously needs to stop running himself and others into trouble.
2. With all those tall targets in our forward line we desperately need a natural crumbing forward.
3. Spread - we need to spread quicker across the middle of the ground. So many times we had a turn over across half back and every player jogged to the same area of the ground. Spread out to create more options.
4. We should have never let Levien leave.
5. How bloody good is SInclair !

The forward line should look a lot better with Cary, Stubbs and Bennell hopefully pushing for a game. Bennell I think needs to show some form in the reserves. Mayne is going to miss next week with concussion. Avery and Smith may also be in contention. Given how long he has been out of the game, Smith at least should probably come back via the reserves. Is McPartland injured or just out of favour?

I read in today’s West that MCardle has now got it right and written that it was Creasy who was reported, and Ainsworth was the one who had to leave the field for 10 minutes because of the new concussion protocol. He got it completely wrong in yesterday’s Sunday Times. No mention of his mistake today, very poor. I reckon we will have to get used to this new low level match reporting now that John Townsend has gone.
