Grump, you are referring to Connor McPartland, a short, nuggety, hard at it, in & under player. The downside is that he lacks pace. He is a very good stoppage player who will get in and get the ball out or bottle it up when required. He will most likely be first 22 but cannot be compared to Brady Grey.

Not a comparison but I thought he did well in that game. Perhaps play him in the centre square as the centre clearance and stay there as the outlet player, I like the way he went abt it!

A statement today on club website re Brady Grey. He has scored some sort of role at Hawthorn FC.
A sad loss but good luck to him.
Thanks for your contribution to PFC Brady.

Perhaps a discussion with Hawthorn about a player swap from the Box Hill Hawks for a player with 2 years to run on his contract would be fruitful? Will most likely line up for the Box Hill Hawks unless he's going to be based in Tasmania where he grew up.

Tragic for us but great for Brady and I wish him all the best. Now to find a replacement. There might be one who was coming over for someone else that we could tempt. Dave Robbins style.

Would that be Will Bravo, Dazz or can we expect another as well? Anyone being compared to Dave Robbins would warrant a very close look.

Not referring to Bravo. Just saying I hear there is a club that may have hit a snag bringing a player over from the east and could be ripe for a swooper like happened to us with Dave Robbins.

I thought that up until now we only had 2 genuine A grade midfielders, Byrne and Grey.
Well now it’s down to one. Ainsworth is unproven in my opinion and Langlands would have to show a lot more than he did last season.

Agree, Cess. However, I have some real hope that Regan Clarke can develop into an A grader. Also if Josh Smith is fully fit, he will be very good. So we might be ok if Byrne, Clarke, Ainsworth and Smith have a good season. I think we need more from McPartland. He was ok last year, but didn't really build on his 2020 season as we hoped.
