News tonight that Brady Grey is moving to Melbourne for work reasons.
Huge loss for the Dees.

I heard he and Stubbs were stuck in Victoria and it sounds like he has picked up a decent job over there. Exactly what we didn’t need. If Stubbs stays there I’m not fussed.

 

Good news is Sandringham recruit Will Bravo should have the green light to get granted a G2G pass from the Gestapo and only do 7 days in the cooler.

Seven News tonight. From what scant info we have, Will Bravo may be a similar type of player to Grey and hopefully will offset the loss to some extent.

Fuck. Massive loss.. I was half expecting him to end up playing for South seeing as he lived down that way - the commute to Lathlain 4x a week in peak hour would be brutal. 

Heard your coach the other day saying that Mayne is a long shot to play.

I believe it has been a wait and see thing as to viability or otherwise of a dual off-field/on-field role. 
My feeling would be that he probably wont play despite him having said that he would like to play.

I’m pretty sure he signed up for 3 years with us last year. He is a big loss but we can thank our premier Mark McGowan for this. Obviously if he didn’t shut people out from returning home for so long Brady would have been back in WA long ago training with his teammates.

Obviously being stuck over the other side of the country for so long your mind is going to wander elsewhere and he’s explored his options. I can’t blame him and wish him all the best.

So... losses: Masten, Yeo, Grey, Colledge, Richardson, Rogers, Eyres, Hendo, Edmonds. Gains: Ainsworth, Ajang, Bravo, Hug, J Busher, C Jones, one PT reserves player and 2 SD reserves players. 

Of the losses I would say, if fit, 5 would be in our best 22. Of the gains, only Ainsworth is a definite best 22. We will hope for the best with Bravo and Ajang. Hug and Busher likely to be fringe players, and the others likely to play reserves only. Bravo has played very little footy over the last two years and you really can't expect him to be a replacement for Grey. I really can't see how we can possibly finish any higher than 7th at best. 

Ted, when did Grey go home, surely he was aware of the situation with WA borders.

From an outsiders view Ainsworth will be VG for you, AJ will try like hell and hopefully live up to the role of lead ruckman, as for the others Hug always look the goods at colts when I watched him.

The young fella who won the medal in the ressies GF looked good but maybe he is at that level but surely worth a try.
