Ted my post was in response to another post, stating if committed and focused Bennell  could be a 40-50 goal kicker....if getting an AFL gig wasn't enough motivation, then what is......as for your junior zone and colts prospects....only takes 2- 3 to step up.....from EF 2017 colts flag....only 3/4 are at the club today....building club depth is a thing of the past now from your colts....the AFL take the cream, a dozen hang on for a year or three in hope..... don't get it thus move on...... the rest prefer an easy life and play country or ammo's.....Cl is the only club that seems to  consistently keep a large core of their youngsters....though a few do wander to other clubs from time to time.

Be great if he could capture his previous form and add some excitement to the team!. Was someone I was more than happy to pay the entrance fee to watch. 

My 2 cents worth and I accept this is from an outsiders perspective and could be well off the mark:
4 players I feel incredibly sorry for are Michael Bennell, Lennon Marlon, Zareth Roe and Blake Johnston.   
Blake a hard working forward that gave his all and with the right "regular" opportunities would have made a great half forward for our club at league level for many years.  His only league opportunities were given when he was the only tall forward and a very average midfield, with very poor delivery.  
Zareth absolute waist of talent. He had all the ability in the world and would have made a great half forward or even half back. But often played as the main target and taking more than one best defender.  He didn't help the situation by trying to sit on people heads every opportunity he got. Given the right role in the right team he could and should have been a 100 game player for PFC.
Lennon -  He must of have had some discipline issues based on his lack of opportunities. But week in /week out he was in the top 3 possession accumulators as well as the main scorer for the ressies.  He was a perfect swing player and our option for a second tall forward during those years when we were screaming for one. Seriously, I don't blame him for his discipline issues - I would have been disgruntled as well. 
Bennell -  I feel less sorry for him as he had many opportunities and it appears from the outside if he just spat the dummy when AFL teams didn't come knocking. However, week in / week out he was the primary and only target. He is a second or third forward and should never had to absorb so much attention, especially with Marlon and Johnson sitting and playing well in the Ressies.  Hope he does come back and gets game time while Fraser and other tall forward options are in the side. 
 

I can't remember too much of Blake or Zareth PD but I always rated the Fish and I thought MB was amazing for a short period of time.

BJ's career was blighted by injury. He could never string more than a few games together at a time. Otherwise, he was a genuine league footballer. Agree re Marlin. He had a great season about 4 years back in defence, then seemed to fall out of favour. Bit slow, but I think he deserved more opportunities. Bennell and Roe... what can you say? Every club has those sorts of players. They are no different Clem Smith or Dean Dick or Gordy Narrier. Or Elijah Taylor, for that matter. Prodigious talent, but work ethic... There are some players you just can't motivate. 

Ted,   Those other bokes you mentioned def had ethical issues and yes Bennell can be lumped in that same category - lets hope he can overcome that. However, Roe cannot be pigeon holed that way. As far as I know he was a regular at training and turned up for every game. In 2018 he took a year off football and notified the club well before the start of preseason.   He has now joined the Police Department and I believe playing in the lower levels. He 100% deserved more opportunity at league level and not just when every other forward was injured. 

Blake Johnson was good I forgot about him. Would still be mid 20's. Would be good to see him come back and give it another crack.

Yes hes only 23 and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he gave it another crack at another club.

Why would he go to another club? He left of his own accord didn't he due to frustrations with injury? Plenty of opportunities for players who can take a mark and kick a goal in the Perth forward line.

KANE JOHNSTON has crossed from Peel to Perth. Only played a couple of ressies games for them last year and seems to normally play with the Harvey Bulls in SWFL. Not sure what position he plays (edit: it's ruck ) but at 199cm / 88kg and 19 years old i daresay he’s worth a go!
