Terrible ending. Disposals -117. If you cannot find the ball you cannot win. In fairness Perth tried hard but only one team out there today knows how to play the game.

The trouble is Smokey our blokes don’t want to get there hands dirty rather play wide of players and bruise free footy heaven forbid if we should man up and I suppose I question the game plan for that.
Opposition teams must salivate when they play us goals come so easy under no pressure whatsoever.
Errant kicks across goals, defensive turnovers, forwards with not a backman near them.
Is our defensive coach aware that the player kicking out can run out 20 metres before he has to kick the ball in,roost the ball 70 metres out of the danger zone nup not us 20 metre dinkey kicks that don’t hit there target bang goal.
I don’t know where we go from here there’s not a lot to like coming through.
Poor old colts took another thumping today.
I think we are to far back of the pack to be a finals contender in coming years.
Our inability to beat West Perth on our home deck is beyond being a joke.

The GM has written a comprehensive document spelling out our deficiencies to the WAFC why we start every season so far behind the eight ball. If those people can’t read then I’m happy to volunteer my time to read it out aloud and slowly for them so they can understand. Rest assured the club is not sitting on its hands on this matter.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Mmmmm, today's worst says one player offered a finale game and rejected it to qualify for reserves finals. Another doesn't play twos so not to take a regular fellas spot come finals....... Doesn't sound like a zone issue to me. Hey but just an outsiders observation...

Agree with 30 Plus, we are looking at some very lean years ahead. We just don't have the players. It's that simple. I honestly can't think of a single positive this season, not one player who has elevated his game. If we were a serious team, guys like Davis wouldn't be playing league. His stats are inflated by playing on at kick ins, but his skills are horrendous and cost us 2 goals directly. La Fontaine dodged a contest in the last quarter and is not up to it. Sing not up to it. John is hopeless. Steel, Gray and Sanderson may develop into role players at best. It is likely that not a single player from our colts team will graduate to league. Avery and Clarke are our only genuine league quality players under 22 years of age.

DD, I have no confidence at all that the WAFC will have the slightest concern at our plight. We have had worse seasons - 1 win in 2000, 2 wins in 2009, 14 straight losses in 2014, 2 wins in 2015 - what help did we get then? They acknowledge our zones are the worst in the WAFL but decline to make changes.  But still they recommend we promote local players. At the same time, they allocate additional player points, only to take them away on the back of finishing 6th for a couple of years. They will be far  more concerned with making the Eagles competitive than Perth.

Ted you are right about Davis but what gets me is the coaches allow him to do the kick ins, he couldn’t hit the side of a barn from 10 metres away.
He Costs us goals directly and indirectly from his woeful kicking every game.
Our skills as a collective is the worst in the comp.
A skills coach along with a new fitness regime would be on the top of my shopping list for next season as well as some fair dinkum decent recruiting no more strugglers and list cloggers from other wafl clubs.

30 Plus, I hear you, but I think we will have no choice but to go for players from other clubs. We have lost 3 senior players already and may lose more, with no local talent coming through to replace them. Expect more Hitchcocks, Peletiers, Reids, La Fontaines next season.

On a positive note, it was a fitting send off for Eyres and Colledge. (and Rogers, though he didn't play league) There's 3 guys who have spent 90% of their WAFL careers copping floggings, so why not send them out the same way?

Oh, and nice scoreboard, we will be able to clearly see how badly we are losing next season. And the new grandstand should provide a comfortable place from which to watch us lose.

Gee, only a year ago you guys were flying and expectation pre-season was that you were challenging for a flag. You copped a bad run with injuries so I wouldn’t be too doom and gloom. Before they took its toll you were 4-3 and in the 5. Then you’re chasing your tail after that. Your Reserves made finals which is positive. Let’s see what the list looks like when they’re all fit. Add a couple more recruits and it’s a different ball game.

You blokes jump off pretty quick!!

What's it got to do with you mate. One player said no to a farewell league game because if he played one more resizes game he qualified for Reserves Finals. The other guy has already qualified for Reserves Finals so he understandably took the farewell league game knowing he will still be there guiding the young fellows coming up through the ranks in the resizes next week. Don't talk about things you don't understand.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!
