Too good for us BC. But we had a real crack after halftime which may have had an impact on your lot.
Just showed if we could have played the first half like we did in the second the result could have been different.
We just cannot apply such pressure for 4 quarters and we cannot win playing catch-up footy.

I'll admit I only watched on FRS after we kicked the first 3 goals of the second half. Subiaco were there for the taking, probably the most ordinary Subiaco team I've seen since Waterman. We should have kicked another 2 goals in the 3rd qtr and be level then squandered chance after chance after Subi let us off the hook early in the last.

Where would we be if we weren't gifted McInnes, Grey and Fisher? Admittedly they have all suffered lengthy stints on the sidelines.

Unless our club demands changes to our zones then the Alignment drums will be beating. I know for a fact one club is going to be gifted 2 very good young growth areas that another club won't be too happy about. And I rate their junior zones superior to ours already so they are adding to it.

What is our club doing about it? Bob, Russell, Troy??

We are going nowhere relying on picking up second rate players who can't crack a game elsewhere.

As I said after the last game, we are back in a position we are all very familiar with - just playing for a bit a respect. I guess a 27p loss to Subi is respectable enough. We were lucky, though, with Subi having 120 more disposals. Another sign of our inability/unwillingness to run and our slow ball movement. There's no point getting upset any more. Yes, we are the lowest scoring team in the WAFL, averaging just 62p a game. We scored 2 goals in three quarters today, 2 goals in a half v SF, one goal in a game against Subi... but, look at this way, in fighting to avoid the wooden spoon we are giving our newer players - Fisher, Masten, Richo, Stubbs, Grey and others - the true experience of what it means to be a Demon.

DD, sadly, we have no choice but to go after fringe players. We are going to lose a lot of senior players at the end of this next season and the next couple, and the cupboard is bare. Who in the reserves is under 23 and primed for a long league career? Maybe Gray, Hunter, McPartland... that's about it. And if we are relying on the scrawny bogans in the colts taking us forward, God help us. The Subi boys helpfully had a thread about their fringe players, so we should target a few of them. Maybe Snadden and (seriously) Monaghan from EF. Maybe try to get Morgan Davies back to the WAFL. We will need those sorts of guys just to be competitive.

Focus on the positives 3 wins in a row for the Reserves.

Based on the performance of the League the Ressies will have to make a few changes which is a shame.

1 half decent quarter from the League team after being completely outgunned in the first half.

What fkn hope have we ever got of kicking a winning score when we play such a ridiculously high forward press?!?! No one home, just bomb it long in hope, $ defenders had a fkn field day. Does this guy have a clue about the modern game???

We let the same 3 blokes run wild
Greg Clark 78 possessions and Kitchin 64 and Delahunty 60 possessions in the 2 games against us. They were 1,2 and 3 in both games

Our midfield over powered, no pace all same same

Aus Davis 43 possessions in the 2 games against Subi our number 1

Dazz, easy to blame the coach, but I too worry about the game plan. On the few occasions we do move the ball quickly, we catch ourselves out in that there's no-one forward, so we have to stop and chip and wait for players to get back. Usually, though, our ball movement is painfully slow. especially coming out of defence. No switching, no overlap run, just a couple of chip passes to around the defensive 50, the a long bomb down the line.

PD, what changes would you make? In my opinion, Masten is cooked. Finals are gone and there's no way he'll play next year, so get him to bow out gracefully and play McPartland. Forget about Yeo coming back - same thing, he won't play next year, so why bother? If he wants to help the reserves go deep in the finals, he can do that. Jye Clark was poor, and not really a league player, at least yet. I'd bring Eddo back. Yes, I think he's soft, but the forecast next week is for fine weather, so he can play the sort of game he likes to play, outside run, no tackling or getting tackled. I can't think of anyone else. Richo's numbers were poor, and at 29, will he be there next year? Eyres has been good the last couple of weeks, but same point: he's 31 and out of favour. DBW needs at least one more week in the reserves.

Selections again a bit strange. On a greasy boggy ground McPartland should have played instead of Quill or J.Clark. Eyres should have played in those conditions. Edmonds must come back in, at least he gives us some run. I agree with Ted, it’s time to say thanks to Masten but we need to move on. It was great in the first 3 games last year but overall it just hasn’t worked, unfortunately. At times today he was a hindrance to the team and that can’t continue.
