Enough with the good for footy platitudes. What's good for footy is that clubs are allowed to plan ahead on the basis of player contracts. What's good for footy is that rival clubs will respect that and not approach and make offers to contracted players. What's good for footy is that players and clubs who agree to be bound by arbitration do indeed respect the arbitrator's decision. Yes, Leggett is a good player, but he is a self-absorbed, disloyal, disrespectful little brat who should be made to suffer the full consequences of his tantrum by sitting out a season of footy. PFC made an embarrassing blunder, we have to wear that, but don't give me this good for footy schtick.

Where have EF poached a player? They thought his contract was flawed, that was rightly tested at arbitration and they lost the case. Perth inexplicably stuffed things up and the obviously vigilant EF footy manager picked up that Perth no longer had him registered, proceeded to register him. Where is the poaching you massive sook.

In truth, all that has happened is what should have occurred in the first place: Perth have got something for him; the club should have taken the money earlier.

The draft thing was never true, DD. It was just a pretext invented by Leggett and EF as a fallback in case the breach of contract failed. What player with draft aspirations would sit out a season of footy at age 24? But you are right insofar as AFL clubs consider character. They will have Leggett pegged as someone who thinks he's bigger than the team, who will sulk if he's not picked for the league team, or if he doesn't play where he wants, and who is thoroughly self-absorbed and unprofessional.
