Five things I learnt or had confirmed tonight .....

1. South will finish with the wooden spoon
2. West Coast Royal Eagles will win the premiership
3. We just do not have the skill level required after about the 40 minute mark of every game ( to almost the exact second it's 40 minutes into each game )
4. This alignment is simply not good - local teams just are not in the same stratosphere with that fitness base etc (if you listened to Peter Spencer on the ABC he was bang on the money)
5. Shit we are poor - the game plan is just not rigorous or tight enough to be winning matches even though the efforts are mostly good.

Long hard year for the 'dogs sadly !!! :(

Agree with some of your conclusions but not about SF being bottom of the ladder in the G7 COMP

I listened to the game up to half time and was surprised at the qtr time scoreline but EP then put the foot down.. EP won it out of the centre everytime in the 2nd qtr the ABC callers even admitted it was no a contest as SF hardly got it in their forward 50!.. The game made a mockery of the WAFL and proves the alignment does not create an even playing field.
Dont blame SF as they just couldnt compete as many teams will find in the following 22 weeks :( We play them next week and I am even considering not going as the result is in the bag.

Enjoy your season and your team mate for what it is. If the WAFC/WAFL dont drop the alignment at the end of this year WAFL supporters will move on and the comp will be dead.

I felt sorry for Hutchings wearing a EP jumper and being forced to perform for a team who we beat in the GF last year and part of which he was a member.

Depressing to say the least the alignment..

I hear what you are saying in regards to Hutchings Cardy but he did actually start at ERT but what about Clancee Pearce who has played in a League Premiership, another GF and a Colts Premiership for Swans (he even has a couple of Swans tattoos for good measure) as today he is forced to play for FART against his beloved Black Ducks at Bassendean which I might add is his junior club!  :(

Nothing happened tonight I didn't expect..

Agree with all, that, bloody total farce this comp, can't say I'll be giving it to much more support. By handing over your money to this WAFC all your doing is giving the a vote of confidence,

another mind boggling planning fail. It never ends.
Souths play a Friday night game up against a Fremantle GF replay game.
It is hysterically amusing the people who run this competition.
Maybe they just don't give a damn anymore. That seems about right

I went last night, took in some stubs and sat in the outer. Nowhere near 1,800 there last night. 1,200 tops.

I sat there, after watching Fremantle look second rate and slow so I wasn't in the best of moods anyway, and saw the demise of a fair and competitive WAFL competition.

We tried hard all night but some of the skill errors due to the pressure EP supplied and the lack of body size in our defence stood out like dog balls.

Borovac, McIntosh, Mills and Ross aren't overly tall or strong body wise and they were up against Johnson, Lycett, Smith, McIness and co.

I think the wce players were EP's best 3 and they kicked 12-13 goals between them. Yes Wulf and Lee were high possession getters but really who are you going to tag, Dom Sheed, Blaine Wilson, Hutchings, Sam Butler, Ali Smith, Brennan or Lee, Wulf or Nathan Blee? Either way your screwed.

And then chuck in Carter (which was hard to watch him in that jumper) McGovern, McGinnity and Josh Hill around the ground and it was quite depressing to see.

It's just really sad to see the dwindling crowds. EP used to have a strong base out there in the outer but it has fallen away badly. Couldn't handle a few of the "die hards" shouting out go you mighty ROYALS, I don't even think they really believed it themselves. Terrible.

I hung around after the game to see if anything would happen as EP came off - they got the obligatory booooossss and eagle chants and words of encouragement which I gather they will get every week but what do they care really?

EP and Peel may not win every game over the next 5 years but they are going to occupy the one of the top 4 spots each year and keep other clubs out of it for a while. Members want to see success on an even playing field or they will leave.

Judging by last nights result and crowd they may have already started.

Well done Hams and Schloithe last night, a fair effort.
