Well looks like its about to ratchet up, Iran have launched missile attacks on the US bases.

Not long before the US responds in kind on big targets. Don't like the Iranians chances here.

Don't forget that Iran has the home team advantage, and has a lot more toys at their disposal than Iraq, or Afghanistan.

You can only wonder what possessed the mad, Bloated Orange Narcissist to kick this off - although a good guess would be to divert attention from his impeachment and other worries at home.

Let's just hope that Morrison has the balls to tell the yanks to stick it up their collective clacker, if they come looking for allied cover for Trump's lunacy.

FMD...it wasn't that long ago I was thinking about going to Iran to check the joint out as it's supposed to be a fantastic tourist destination... maybe I should have as I don't think it will be around as we know it for much longer

Seems to be cooling in last hour or two, Iran saying ok we hit you please don't hit us back, ( a bit of token payback to keep the locals happy ) , sounds like no casualties at this stage.

Another odd development is the crash of a Ukraine Plane in Iran hour or two ago, might be more to that.

Yes always been interested in going there, although the dry policy could be hard to take.

I'd say the attack on the US Embassy was the trigger, on top of that Iran have been orchestrating an unofficial war for years.

They may well have more "toys" than the yanks, but the yanks never went fully sick with theirs in either campaigns, a conventional war always suits the US more anyway, its the counter insurgency they get bogged down.

they have ample reason to attack Iran -- 1979, 1982, 2020 pick one, one will do -- having said that, I would not attack them, Trump has made his point. The loss of this general will of shocked Iran.
