So what happens when they cop suspensions for the season proper, I reckon going by this the general public is getting conditioned for suspensions.

Could be losing some of our better Wafl players to Essendon.

Agree with your conditioning comment Peter...the only surprise for me is that the Herald is leading this story and not the Age...where is Caro??? has she lost her voice or has she been muffled after her recent jumpings of the gun? Sadly we have a situation here whereas it appears players may be headed for suspensions with no absolute proof of taking a banned substance, only suspicion and the vibe. The ramifications for the AFL will be huge if they ban players because of the vibe who will then take Dank to court after being suspended, only for a court to rule in favour of Dank. We are still years away from hearing the last of this if anything can be read in to Dank's comments a few days ago.

Players headed for suspensions with no proof of a banned substance. Doesn't seem like the AFL would do this? Waiiiiiit my bad! I forgot about Ben Cousins and the other young kid from "possibly Saints" I think it was who got suspended for ordering the wrong bulking powder. Didn't even get to try it and got 2 years if my memory serves me correctly.

Standard AFL procedure.

Noticed that Paddy Ryder is not playing the pre season games. Looks like it will be a 3 weeks suspension with a suspended sentence attached. They can serve it in Pre season games.

So the players wont be playing in the Nab challenge aren't they supposed to be innocent, I also had to laugh that they named former Essendon players at Port and the Bulldogs yet the Essendon players remain anonymous.

Surely Hird must fall on his sword when inevitable suspensions are handed down.

DW if they had no proof it would not have gotten to this stage I hope you don't believe in conspiracy theories, the AFL have been in your corner all the way its been unlucky for the Bombers that big bad ASADA got in the way.

I'll wait to see actual evidence before I form my ultimate view Peter. Just like with the WAFC I do have a hard time believing everything the AFL feed to the media and that has nothing to do with conspiracy theories but moreso the knowledge that cover ups in the corporate, sporting and political worlds are a very common occurrence with relation to image & damage control...eg Johnson & Johnson eg Troy Buswell eg #9 at WCE and the tainted flag of 06 eg WMD's in Iraq eg Rupert Murdoch's newspaper mob in the UK etc etc etc...it's only when all the evidence becomes public knowledge can we develop an informed opinion...I'm still not sure myself after all the bullshit that has been slung in the media from all 3 sides of the fence so I will wait until i can scrutinise the so called evidence they say they have....

I find it strange that the players are sitting out the Nab so they get back dated penalties if they are innocent, and why did Hird go to court to have the evidence suppressed, if he is innocent.

Me too, suggests the players know the outcome already so why is the judge taking 4 weeks to look over everything. Might just be that the players have lost faith in the process or alternatively have had it proven to them that they were duped by Dank. Either way this thing is far from over

Hird won't fall on his sword...he's too egotistic and full of himself to let that happen. he just can't see his reputation is already dirt and he still has dreams of clearing it...ain't gunna happen Hird...even if the High Court turns over the previous decisions, he'll always be remembered as someone who cheated imo
