Don't miss quote me thanks.

What I said was I hope that WA legends ALSO get the same coverage and thoughts that Hafey has had. I never said we shouldn't have acknowledged his passing.

My point being that even our state is embracing the history of the VFL from as early as the 1960's yet they have little to no interest in our own.

Well the major comp like it or not was VFL, thats the way it was. Only time Vics heard of WA stars was when they played VFL. Its not that hard to figure out.

So do we put VFL stars in front of our own local stars?

Interesting point 58. Im NOT saying the VFL stars were "better" than the WA stars....BUT in most sporting environments the bigger the league, the higher "rating" (for want of a better word) of so called stars of the game.

And I don't dispute what you say unk. However, I believe that when our WA greats start to leave us, the best we can expect in Melbourne papers is probably a small article about 5 pages in. If this does happen - total disrespect - but that's Melbourne's Paparazzi I guess. Dogman made the point, but it was misconstrued.

Not so sure if its disrespect 58 (though i have zilch time for the media), lets take Jack Sheedy as an example. Now coming from Vic and being a fan of footy, i until i had moved here had never heard of him. I would asume that would be the case of most Vic based people.I found when i moved here "most wa footy follwers had a VFL team, wherein Vic the was hardly mention of the WAFL. I think that is where the issue is.
' On the other hand i would assume most footy followers here would have heard of Tom Hafey.
