I don't imagine Ch 9 will be too concerned, the ratings for a Australia v India will never be earth shattering, they will most likely just flick the series across to a digital channel anyway.

You dont think Channel 9 would be concerned? They have just paid $500 million for the rights for gods sake & now the highest rating Test Match of every summer which is beamed into the most populous Eastern States in prime time (very good for advertising $$$) has been axed! Bizarre comment Bazza

Its not even in the ratings period, they dont give a toss.

if there are only 4 tests that summer i am not sure how people could be surprised Perth misses out, its the worst venue and the facilities for the public are a joke..

the waca has had so many re-developments, at a cost of untold millions. And its still average and the capacity has gone backwards. that practice must be in some WA Government oath because it seems the more money spent on venues here, the smaller the capacity. Isnt it supposed to be the other way around?

no suprise we lose a test match here. a sad day for sport here in WA and incompetence at the top has done us no favours.

I agree - It was bizarre the WACA reduced it's capacity, in the late 80s redevelopment they installed seating increased the cpacity then later ripped it all out, demolished the historic farley stand and replaced it with nothing.

The ground lost all its character and is a sterile boring venue.

If any org. is run by numpties its the WACA.

To top it off they banned booze and fast food advertising apparently.

why the WACA doesn't sell the ground for real estate development and buy into Burswood with a drop in wicket during the summer has me stuffed...if it works at the MCG, SCG and Gabba then why not here?

Exactly, with the WACA now being dropped off the test schedule, its official the WACA is becoming a white elephant.

The would be far better to unload it and put a drop in wicket at the new stadium. Which Im sure will come.

Perth would have to be the most hopelessly inneficient user of sporting venues compared to other Australian cities.

Adelaide has consolidated into the Oval

Bigger cities like Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane have less venues than us.

Bloody joke.

agreed bazza...we'll have world class facility at Burswood that's only being used from March to September with the exception of the odd one-off event...how inefficient is that?

Crazy, The WACA will be bust in a couple of years if not now, they will have to move to the new stadium, on top of that we have Perth Oval for rugby and soccer and Leederville as good knows what.

I got fairly use to no cricket living here. Get the odd shit game at Manuka such as the PM's game.

Those that would be the usual suspect cricket bogans end up at the baseball instead guzzlin' beer and eating pies.

Go enjoy the baseball.
