If ever there was a mandate for WA to secede from the rest of Australia, James Sutherland has surely just offered us one....between him & Michael Clarke I give up. Cricket can go and take a running jump as far as I'm concerned. I'm done with it!!!'

Strange I heard there was going to be one in Perth and people were already getting tickets..? Sounds like it has come down to money and they will play at the venue where the dollars will come in as they will all be sold out... Agree WA is being treated like shit again. They forget the contribution we have made to Australian cricket especially in the TEST arena and players.

OOPS SORRY Found this later :( :( :( :( :(

www.waca.com.au/other/news_detail.php?ID=3076

The Western Australian Cricket Association wishes to express its deep disappointment following Cricket Australia’s decision to not hold an Australian Test match at the WACA Ground in the four-match 2014-15 series against India.

The WACA has been overlooked for the 2014-15 Test summer, with the SCG, MCG, Adelaide Oval and Gabba to be the host venues for the four Tests.

"Whilst CA will provide additional limited-overs matches to replace the Test match, there is no compensation for losing a Test,” WACA Chief Executive Officer Christina Matthews said.

"The ongoing effect this loss will have on the WACA and cricket in Western Australia will be devastating and we are extremely disappointed by the decision, not only for the Association, but for our Members and WA cricket supporters.

"We will continue talks with CA and will be seeking an understanding from them of all the elements behind the decision.”

The WACA will also be discussing with CA additional content to replace the games lost such as up to four Twenty20 internationals and One Day Internationals.

Ms Matthews said the WACA had outlined to CA the reasons why it should host one of the Tests, specifically putting the fans first.

"One of Cricket Australia’s key pillars is to ‘put fans first’ and a Test match at the WACA provides a viewer friendly time-zone for eastern seaboard audiences as well as Indian viewers,” she said.

"Domestic TV ratings from the Perth match of the last series between these two nations was the equal highest in Australia at 1.12 million.

"The 2008 and 2012 Tests between Australia and India at the WACA were also extremely well attended, with the first three days of the 2012 Test sold out, so the WA cricket fans are the big losers here.

"Beyond that, the long-term effects of not hosting a Test match will be challenging for the WACA which has taken positive strides over the past 18 months.

"We understand our Members will be extremely disappointed by the decision and it is a setback to our development and reputation.

"Since hosting our first Test match in December 1970, the WACA has enjoyed the tradition of hosting Test cricket and to miss out in 2014-15 is a huge disappointment for WA cricket supporters.”

An incredible decision made here by that numpty Sutherland & the CA board in not giving Perth a Test Match vs India in 2014/15!!
I wonder if they consulted one of their key stakeholders in the Nine Network beforehand about this decision as I would think they would not be happy about this especially after paying around half a million $$$ for the TV cricket rights only for the most watched Test Match every summer, in prime time for the majority of their viewers, not to mention advertisers being dumped???
Could it be they have put the $$$ coming from the Indian TV rights ahead of our very own country's Channel Nine???

With the exception of the ASHES, test attendances in Perth have been woefull now for a few years, and thats at whats now very small and ordinary venue.

I don't imagine Ch 9 will be too concerned, the ratings for a Australia v India will never be earth shattering, they will most likely just flick the series across to a digital channel anyway.

You dont think Channel 9 would be concerned? They have just paid $500 million for the rights for gods sake & now the highest rating Test Match of every summer which is beamed into the most populous Eastern States in prime time (very good for advertising $$$) has been axed! Bizarre comment Bazza

ch9 have said the relevant test doesnt fall in their ratings period so they are not fussed..

if there are only 4 tests that summer i am not sure how people could be surprised Perth misses out, its the worst venue and the facilities for the public are a joke..
