Pretty sure the WAFL umps get abused more then some guy standing on his tod for 6 balls at a time at fine leg...don't see folk getting escorted out of the ground....if it's racial taunting then yeah chuck out the offenders....if it's not then use it as a motivation to take a great catch, take a few wickets etc....

Be interesting to see what happens if the Barmy Army are allowed next year....Will they be escorted before drinks on day 1 for giving Starc a hard time at fine leg?

Well it backfired on the Aussies big time, the sledging from Paine was pathetic and his role as captain has to come into question and Steve Smith should never be considered for the captains role ever again. When you are starting to sledge your opponent you are letting your opponent know you doubt your own ability to defeat them fair and square.

It's a bad example for young players like Cameron Green and Will Purcovski. I have noticed when Green ducks under a bouncer he never looks up at the bowler, just keeps his head down at the pitch leaving the bowler to look at the top of his helmet. I hope he keeps that up.

From what I heard and I'll stand corrected, there language was along the lines of calling them "street shitters" and "monkeys", if correct then definitely racist and they should be kicked out and banned. But .... we must remember the Indian home crowds calling Symonds "monkey boy' not so long ago. They need to also clean their own house before asking us to clean ours.

Seems though that the Aussies have a target on their backs. Other international teams seem to be allowed to tamper with the ball etc, their crowds can abuse to the point of racism with little if any recourse....unless of course you are Australian.

They need an experienced player to replace Paine. Smith should be placed on a final warning, one made public. I would make either S E Marsh or Heneriques the next captain. Both would do better than Wade and Head.

I think Paine should be encouraged to bow out after the Brisbane test. He came in to soften the team's image after the ball-tampering scandal, but now he's not even doing that. He has done a passable job overall, but his captaincy in the Stokes test was deplorable and his keeping in Sydney equally bad. Of the current team, only Cummins appeals as a possible captain. If not, Alex Carey comes in. We obviously need a good middle order batsman. Head and Wade don't seem to be the answer, but I don't know who is putting their hand up at Shield level. Ark, Marsh is 37 and Henriques 34, no point bringing in guys that age to captain the team.

Agree Ark, Smith should come in but on a very short leash. Other test nations have been very very soft on ball tampering, which is a bad thing, Australia took the correct action and sanctions but I doubt other countries would do the same to their captains as well as one of their best batsmen.
