Be interesting to see what comes out of this, 6 young fellas ejected from the ground for racism.....obviously not privy to know exactly what was said, but calling a player Shiraz instead of Siraj sounds like banter to me then racism....don't condone any form of racism at all, lowest form of wit, but is this really racism if true? Especially after the Indians made a complaint earlier, surely these guys wouldn't be so stupid and blatant to start using racist remarks in public. Fine line this as the racist card can be used so easily today, India obviously got their backs up and looking for some sort of justice for their poor showing on day 3 & 4.

A couple of spectators said that it was just banter. If this article is true, you’re spot on. Maybe they were just sooking??

Could say the same at the footy then BH...pretty sure the umps get worse at the footy and folk don't get frog marched out....if they did, grounds would be empty by 1/4 time....

Racism is like a buffet....you can pick and choose...and you can dine out on it. If these guys have done wrong then fair due, make an example of them....however if Siraj is crying wolf, then surely he should be made an example of too...players are happy to take the plaudits and the perks to go with it, then they should be ok for some piss taking if they drop a catch, fumble whilst fielding or get smoked for runs when bowling....no different to sledging...just what home crowd advantage enables some 13th man sledging from the crowd to get in a players head....as long as it's not referring to ones colour, culture or person.

It's probably a case of the straw that broke the Camels back by the sounds of it. Probably has been some racial sledging leading up to it and Siraj has just had enough and reacted. I think sledging a player who has to stand stationary in a fielding position on the boundary for 6 balls an over is a bit weak and a lot different from sledging a footballer who is one of 18 opposition players out on the field and in a particular spot for a maybe a few seconds although full backs and full forwards would probably beg to differ.

Who remembers the sledging that poor old Richard Hadlee copped when he went to field at fine leg or third man? "HADLEEEEE'S A WANNNKER..... HADLEEEE'S A WANNNKER....."

Why? This is the same argument as the booing one. You pays yer money.... so long as it’s not racial. But then, kids aren’t allowed to be told they came second, third or last, so this sort of issue will get bigger. Yer mother wears army boots....oh dear, you’ll be ok princess.

I wonder how our cricketers go in front of English, Kiwi and Saffa crowds - and vice versa?

From my understanding, the guys ejected from the ground was because of a bit of banter and nothing more. Security becoming a bit touchy maybe? Having said that, not sure what happened prior in the day or the other days? If there was prior racial abuse, why were people not escorted from the ground on other days?
With Australia's border "supposedly closed", I would be suggesting the indian cricketers and the cricket spectatators can thank their lucky stars the test matches are proceeding. As someone suggested earlier, why are the crowd saying anything?
They should be appreciative the damn cricket is being played.

I think we are all guilty of yelling something at the footy directed at a player whether it's just trying to be funny or expressing anger or trying to put a player off but cricket is a completely different game where players in the outfield are stationary and close to hundreds of spectators on their own.

I think that is far more intimidating and that is the object of some of these spectators. On 9 News some vision was shown from peoples phones, one spectator was yelling for him to come closer. Why?

Just appreciate they are here giving their all and giving us a great contest, cheer your loudest and sing a few songs but show the players the respect they deserve.
